Sincerity Is Not The
Issue. You can be sincere, and still be wrong.

EGO - Confronting Our Biggest
Problem - by Peter James
Today many
‘Believers’ are worrying about all sorts of problems.
They study the
bible, and surf the Internet endlessly.
They hope to
come across some new and startling truth.
They are
busying themselves in an attempt not to be deceived by the
coming trauma,
which they have seen in the Bible.
They concern
themselves with the anti-Christ,
and the hoped
for Revival, etc., etc.
Many are
confused, and have no idea where to turn.
The reality is
that there is a far bigger problem lurking right under
their noses,
and, it is so near that they cannot see it.
This problem
is our ‘Ego’.
The bible says
a great deal about this in the Old and New Testament.
In fact an
entire book is devoted to it.
We can see
that the very first mention of rebellion in the bible was
caused by EGO.
This is what Lucifer said.
Isaiah
14:14 I will
ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will
be like the most High.
These are the
verses which precede it.
Isaiah
14:12 How art thou
fallen from heaven, O Lucifer,
son of the
morning! how art thou cut down to the ground,
which didst
weaken the nations!
Isaiah
14:13 For thou
hast said in thine heart,
I will
ascend into heaven,
I will
exalt my throne above the stars of God:
I will
sit also upon the mount of the congregation,
in the sides
of the north:
His prior
assignment was:
Ezekiel 28:14 Thou art the
anointed cherub that covereth;
and I have
set thee so: thou wast upon the holy
mountain of God;
thou hast
walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
He was not happy about his position, which was right
at the very
throne of the Eternal God.
It just was not good enough for
him,
in spite of his beauty and
wisdom.
Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast
perfect in thy ways from the day that
thou wast created,
till iniquity
was found in thee.
Ezekiel 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up
because of thy beauty,
thou hast
corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy
brightness:
I will cast
thee to the ground,
I will lay
thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
All of these incredible qualities, which were
built into him,
from his creation, were not good enough for
him.
He wanted to become God !
His ego, which is his pride and arrogance got
the better of him.
He had to be cast down to the earth.
He sold his lie to one third of the angels,
and as they also had
inflated egos, they promptly followed him,
hoping that somehow
Lucifer would give them a higher position,
than that which they had at that time.
Of course Lucifer lied to them, just like he
lies to us today.
He seduces and deceives us, just like he did
to the one third
of the angels that follow him.
Everything about us today shouts ‘Ego’.
What is road rage but ‘Ego’ out of control ?
What are all these enormous cars to carry
little human bodies
all about?
What about the unnecessary massive individual
debt that millions
have incurred worldwide, for all sorts of
reasons?
Is this not all about ‘Ego’.
Let us fast forward many millennia from
Lucifer’s sin,
to Adam and Eve.
Satan was perfect when he was created in the
spirit realm.
Adam and Eve were perfect in the physical
realm, and they were also
put in a perfect garden, ‘Eden’.
How do I know that?
The answer is that the Eternal God does not
make anything
imperfect, period.
How did Satan tempt them?
He appealed to their ego.
He offered them the very same thing, for which
he had lusted,
and which was the cause of his downfall.
Genesis 2:4 And the serpent (Satan/Lucifer) said unto the woman,
Ye shall not
surely die:
Genesis 2:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat
thereof,
then your
eyes shall be opened,
and ye shall
be as gods, knowing good and evil.
The choice for them was to obey
what Christ told them,
when He spoke to them as an
ordinary looking man,
with no attractiveness that
would make Him desirable,
just as He appeared some 4,000
years later in Nazareth,
Isaiah 53:2 For he shall
grow up before him as a tender plant,
and as a root out of a dry ground:
he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him,
there is no beauty that we should desire him.
or to listen to Satan, who would
have appeared to them in all his
majesty as an angel of light.
2
Corinthians 11:14 And no
marvel; for Satan himself is transformed
into
an angel of light.
2
Corinthians 11:15 Therefore it
is no great thing if his ministers
also be
transformed as the ministers of righteousness;
whose end
shall be according to their works.
Man acts today precisely as he
has done from the beginning,
as Adam and Eve did.
He goes by sight and hearing,
and as a rule we prefer the lies
of Satan to the Truth of the
Eternal God.
As Satan plays to our Ego, which
is nothing more than our pride,
and arrogance we make the same
choices every single day as our
first parents did.
These are the qualities of
‘Believers’, in the ‘True Church’,
‘The Body Of Christ’.
Note the very first thing
mentioned is selfishness.
This is precisely what we do
when we are filled with ‘Pride’, and ‘Ego’.
We always want to be right.
We cannot humble ourselves, and
admit,
that we do not know, or
that we cannot do.
We delight in being wrong and
yet strong.
This is ego.
2
Timothy 3:1 ¶ This know
also, that in the last days perilous times
shall come.
2
Timothy 3:2 For men
shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous,
boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient
to parents,
unthankful,
unholy,
2
Timothy 3:3 Without
natural affection, trucebreakers,
false
accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers
of those that are good,
2
Timothy 3:4 Traitors,
heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more
than lovers
of God;
Note the conclusion of the
matter, when you are any of the above,
you will be a hypocrite, just
having a form of godliness.
2
Timothy 3:5 Having a
form of godliness, but denying the power
thereof: from
such turn away.
Which is the book that deals with
Ego?
It is the book of Job.
Job was not an ordinary run of the mill
person.
The Eternal God declared him to be
righteous,
and unlike any other person on the
earth at that time.
Job
1:8 And the LORD said unto
Satan, Hast thou considered
my servant
Job, that there is none like him in the earth,
a perfect and
an upright man,
one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
This means that absolutely
anyone can be caught up with ego and pride.
I have the greatest regard for
Job,
but this is what Job said:
Job
27:5 God forbid
that I should justify you:
till I die I will
not remove mine integrity from me.
Job went as far as to say that even the
Eternal God could check out
his integrity.
Job
31:6 Let me be
weighed in an even balance,
that God may
know mine integrity.
Make no mistake, Job was a very
great man.
His mistake was that he had not
realized that it was the Eternal God,
who had made him the person that
he was.
It was not simply his own
efforts.
He was proud of his own efforts.
It was all ‘Ego’.
For years I have been saying
that everyone should go to a couple
of funerals every year,
in order to keep their lives in
the correct perspective.
They need to see the lively,
dynamic person lying lifeless in a coffin.
We need to realize that it is
only a matter of time before we are
in exactly the same position.
Of what use is our ego, pride,
vanity and arrogance, when we are dead?
1
Timothy 6:6 But
godliness with contentment is great gain.
We should be contented about our
position in the world,
and focus on obeying the Eternal
God, and giving Him pleasure.
Any attempt to exalt ourselves
over others, in any way is going
to end in tears, and even gnashing of teeth.
We are told that over and over
again.
Ego drives us to seek to control
and manipulate others for our benefit,
or to exalt ourselves in the
eyes of others.
This is absolutely futile, and
is actually sin.
As it is sin it will carry all
the consequences of sin,
and the ultimate consequence is
death.
The Eternal God says that it is
an abomination.
Nicolaitans
means control of the people.
Revelation 2:6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest
the deeds of
the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
Revelation 2:15 So hast thou also them that hold
the doctrine
of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
Of course if you are a part of
the Body of Christ,
you will have a detrimental
impact on the body until you repent,
to the Eternal God.
A consequence of blessings can
quickly lead to ego and pride.
Because we are blessed in some
way we can think that we are better
than others, who are less
fortunate.
This is a tremendous hurdle for
those,
who have come out of Satan’s
Babylonian system.
Many fall at this hurdle.
We
need to see our ego as a large bubble preceding us,
as we strut along.
It is there hiding our nakedness, and just
waiting to be popped.
Sooner
or Later, it will be burst.
Revelation 3:14 ¶ And unto the angel of the church of the
Laodiceans write;
These things saith the Amen, the faithful and
true witness, the beginning of the creation
of God;
This is written to the Church, by Christ, himself.
This is what it is saying.
When you are ego driven, you will not be able to see your true
condition.
It has to be revealed to you.
Revelation 3:15 I know thy
works, that thou art neither cold nor hot:
I would
thou wert cold or hot.
Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm,
and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
You can easily think that everything that you
have is the result of,
education, hard work, and diligence.
Of course these things are important, but is
not everything based
on blessings which you have received?
Life itself is an unearned blessing, whether we believe in God or not.
Without health it is very difficult to have an ego, but some still do.
Job did !
Some glory in sickness, as if
it is a badge of honour.
It is all ego.
One of the lessons to be learnt from ill health is that ego and pride
has to be destroyed.
Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased
with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou
art
wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Revelation 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the
fire,
that thou mayest be
rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest
be clothed,
and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear;
and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that
thou mayest see.
Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten:
be zealous therefore, and repent.
Ill health and poverty levels
the playing field,
and tends to bring us to our
senses, but not always.
Are these not the two things
that were used in the blink of an eye,
to awaken Job?
Yet it was not enough, was it?
It also seems that two of his
three friends also had ego problems.
Interestingly in spite of the
instant loss of his children,
and his great wealth, his
ego was not diminished,
but rather it seems as if it
were strengthened.
In spite of being hit by sores
from the top of his head to his feet,
and in spite of some 30 chapters
of discussion with his two friends,
it did not change Job in the
slightest.
There were 5 more chapters where
Elihu, his third friend,
who spoke much better than his
friends,
tried to reason with Job.
Job did not comment.
It took the intervention of none
other than the Eternal God, in person,
to bring Job to his senses.
The Eternal God chopped him down
to size, and showed him that
he was merely dust, and that
self-exaltation was the basic cause
of his problem, and in fact he
knew nothing.
As Ego and Pride are sin.
The Eternal God has to show us
our true condition,
just as He did with Job.
We then have to repent, and live
the life that we should have been
living in the first place.
The situation is precisely the
same today.
What about you?
Are you going to have a very
rude awakening, and will you also
have to go through a Job
experience?
If it is necessary it will
happen.
We have been clearly told that
Christ will have a ‘Spotless Bride’.
Whatever it takes, that is what
is going to take place.
It is our choice how easy or how
difficult our walk is going to be.
Are you going to have to lose
all that you have,
and then have to be taken to
within a whisker of losing your life,
and then to be directly
confronted by the Eternal God,
before you wake up?
I sincerely hope not.
Sadly it will take the
‘Tribulation’, to awaken the vast majority out
of their slumber.
This is the primary reason for
the rapidly advancing ‘Great Tribulation’.
Even that will not have the
desired effect as many will blaspheme,
and blame the Eternal God for
their suffering, much as they do today.
I need to make it clear that I
am not speaking to unbelievers,
but to believers.
Please also remember that every
single day that we entertain our ‘Ego’,
thousands continue to suffer and
die, worldwide.
This fact alone should stir us
to action.
We should pray for the courage
to face up to faults,
and to ask for forgiveness
for our sins, because being
pompous and arrogant of course is against
other people, but it is
primarily a sin against the Eternal God.
The final notes on our documents
have been giving the solution
for quite some time.
What are you going to do
about it before it is too late?
See The Video: Obedience Is The Only Way Of Escape
Be Humble Repent Listen To The Eternal God Obey Him
This is very easy to say, but I assure you
that it is physically impossible,
without the empowerment of the Eternal God.
Just going up to some altar
call, running to some church, or isolating
yourself in the hope that
somehow it will all go away, will not do it.
