Greetings Claudio.
It is an awful crime to be raped.
In the Old Testament one who did
such an atrocity would surely be killed.
You have to remember that the
habit of fornication,
- sleeping around was completely
forbidden.
This is the principle.
Deuteronomy 22:25 But
if a man find a betrothed damsel
in the field, and the man force
her,
and lie with her: then the man
only that lay with her shall die:
If he sleeps with a woman who is
not engaged to another the man
has to marry the woman.
Exodus 22:16 And
if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed,
and lie with her, he shall surely
endow her to be his wife.
Two wrongs do not make a right.
Horrendous though rape is it does
not give the right to take the life
of any pregnancy that might
result. I know of no scripture which
will support what is regarded as
murder, thou shalt not kill.
For the rest of the woman's life
she would have to bear the burden
of having taken a life.
I fully appreciate that it could
even be difficult to love such a child.
In my experience the mothers
still often love the children dearly.
