Identifying Rhema
Questions/Comments
08/02/2010
How
do you know when you have Rhema?
Is
it a voice inside of you comforting you,
after
you have talked to God, or as you are thinking?
Because
at times I feel like He talks to me,
(not
as long as the Rhema y’all get though)
but
I am never certain if it's just my thoughts.
Answers/Responses
Rhema simply means
a word spoken by the Eternal God to an individual.
The Bible is the
Word of God, and should be regarded as Rhema.
1. Rhema will never contradict
the Word of the Eternal God.
2. The difference between your own
thoughts and Rhema,
is that it is a
relatively easy matter to recall your own thoughts,
as they are yours,
but as Rhema are not your own thoughts,
recalling them is
normally an entirely different matter.
For example, let us
say that you had wondered sometime in the past what
a particular
scripture meant. Suddenly one morning you are awakened,
at 5.00 am, and the
meaning of the scripture is as clear as crystal.
In fact , it is so
very vivid to you that you are quite confident that
you can turn over,
and go back to sleep and you will remember
it in the morning,
and you will write it down. Our experience is that
if you did that
when you awaken you will not have the slightest clue what
you were told.
The reason was that
it was not your thoughts in the first place,
you therefore have
no access to it as you do with your own thoughts.
Of course when
Rhema gets established in your being,
that is a different
matter.
Because of this we
recommend that you write down Rhema immediately.
If it comes to pass, you will then know
that it is of the Eternal God.
3. We admit that it is one of the
hardest things to be absolutely certain that
what we have heard
is from the Eternal God.
Our Rhema on this
point is that we should then discuss it amongst
ourselves, then it
will be clear if it is genuine or not.
It therefore forces
us to think of Rhema as a body matter.
4. The biggest problem associated
with Rhema is not whether we hear
or not, because all
of us hear from time to time, but whether we actually
obey what we are
told. This is an enormous problem for some people.
5. When someone has been given
Rhema for themselves, and they share
it with the rest of
the body, it is a humbling experience for the rest of the body
to point out in
love, that they are not doing what they said that they were told
to do in their own
Rhema, by the Eternal God.
This happens a lot.
People rebel
against their own Rhema.
This is a slippery
and very dangerous slope, which should be avoided
at all costs.
6. The length of Rhema is never an issue.
The most profound
Rhema that I had was only four words long,
and in that
instance it was as if it was very firmly spoken.
It was excellent,
but it was very firm and positive, so that there was no doubt
in my mind.
Another example was
only around 10 words long.
It was just a
question which was addressed to me as a thought.
I was washing up
the dishes in the kitchen in the morning,
and quite out of
the blue, as it often happens, the thought came,
‘On what grounds aren’t you going to
visit your Uncle George?
Uncle George was in
his 90’s, and he lived in St. Kitts, in the West indies,
the place of my
birth.
I used to go and
see him regularly.
I knew he was not
in the best health.
I quickly thought
about it.
Although I never
have a lot of money, there was sufficient to buy a return
air ticket, I just
had to look for a good deal.
I did not actually
respond to the question.
I just thought that
I had no grounds.
This meant that it
should be dealt with immediately.
I left the washing
up, and went onto the computer and looked for a flight.
I found one
immediately, and booked it straight away.
Later I went to see
if I would find a flight again.
I could not, none
existed.
The reality is that
the flight down was not full, but having been blessed
with a flight, the
rest was no concern of mine, that is what I gathered.
I arrived around
3.00 pm, but my Uncle George died 2 - 3
hours,
before the aircraft
landed.
I was not surprised
at all, as I felt that he would have
willed himself to
die before I arrived,
so that I would not
see his pitiful condition.
7. Often Rhema has no
relationship to what you are doing or thinking,
as in the last
example.
I was washing up.
Uncle George was
not on my mind at that time at all.
I had not been
considering going to St Kitts at all.
8. Sometimes the opening up of a single word,
phrase or sentence,
is all that is
required in order to understand something that was completely
beyond your
understanding.
The Northern Army
Video and Document is a case in point.
9. When writing documents, I can
have a sudden profound thought,
that I have to
write immediately, otherwise I will lose it
10. The matter of obedience is
critical, and it cannot be over stressed.
Although I had no
knowledge of making videos,
I thought that I
should start making videos. I bought the camera,
and within days it
had to be repaired.
For months it then
sat in a drawer as I tried to work out
what to do.
I set up part of my
Dining Room as a studio, with bright lights etc.
My best efforts all
failed miserably.
The picture was not
good, and the sound non- existent.
Then on a Pentecost
morning, I had the thought to go and make
a video today.
It is certainly not
a thought I would have had for ‘Pentecost’.
Where was I
supposed to make it?
The dining room was
set up but it just did not work.
The next thought
was, ”Make it in the kitchen”.
I racked my brain,
how was I going to do it?
Where would the
camera be?
What about the
lighting that had defeated my best efforts?
What would be the
subject, I had nothing prepared?
It never occurred
to me that I could not or should not do it.
It was just a
matter of how.
I thought about it,
and decided what I would do.
I chose a topic,
and made some notes.
I then set up the
camera, and attached a very sensitive microphone.
The recording went
quite well.
When I was finished
and went to the camera, I noticed that the microphone
had not been
attached properly.
I could not believe
it.
I rolled the film
back a little and played it back.
The sound was
excellent.
It was the addition
of the external microphone that had been
the cause of the
main problem all
the time. It cut out the onboard microphone,
but at the same
time it did not record the external microphone.
One of the group
had some Rhema, which said,
because I listened
the Eternal would bless what I was doing.
That all done I
then thought what am I going to call these videos?
With computers and
media everything has to have a name.
The thought then
was ‘P.J’s Kitchen Videos’.
That is the story
of how the Video program was born.
11. Rhema will never be accusing,
though it can be corrective.
Accusing, negative,
or thoughts which generate fear, can be rebuked
and rejected in
confidence as having been originated by our adversary.
12. Finally the best idea is early
in the morning, in quiet time,
to sit with a
notepad and pen and ask the Eternal God
if He has anything
to tell you.
Wait for an answer.
If it does not
happen the first day, then do it the next day, and so on.
Because we share
Rhema amongst ourselves, it does not necessarily
mean that all Rhema
is posted on the website, because it is not.
The fact that it is
not posted is not a reflection on the genuineness
of the Rhema. It is
a decision I have to make.
When posting Rhema
I do not necessarily put the person’s name,
in fact now I try
to avoid doing that.
When Rhema is
posted it becomes my complete responsibility.
I never change
Rhema, but I can punctuate it and correct spelling mistakes,
which I point out
to the contributor
I hope that this
has helped you to understand Rhema better,
and to see it in
action.
Much Grace

Be Humble Repent Listen To The Eternal God Obey Him.
This is very easy to say, but
I assure you that it is physically impossible,
without the empowerment of the
Eternal God.
Attending some Church,
going up to an altar call, or isolating yourself,
in the hope that
somehow it will all be alright, will not do it.
What are you going to do about
it before it is too late?
See The Video: Obedience Is The Only Way Of Escape
. The only way out of
this dilemma is Jesus Christ.
. He
is the only way of escape.
. We have to be
under His Care and Protection.
. Salvation by any
other name or means,

not exist.
. Complete Obedience is
required
