There Is One God by Peter James
The
Question has been asked how many God’s are there?
The
suggested answer is that there are two Gods,
Jesus
and the Father.
The
reality is that there is only one God.
The
Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit all are one God,
not
three, not two but one.
In
Hebrew the word for God in Genesis 1:26 is Elohim.
Strongs puts it this way (plural intensive-singular meaning)
Some
refer to it as uni-plural, that is singular in meaning but
we
can say multifaceted.
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us
make man in our image, after our
likeness:
and
let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,
and
over the cattle, and over all the earth,
and
over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image
of God created he him;
male
and female created he them.
Here
we see God says let us, then we are told man was made in his
own image.
Although
this concept is hard for us to grasp as our finite minds
try
to understand and infinite God, this does not alter the facts.
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and
the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and
his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God,
The
everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace
there shall be no end,
upon
the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it,
and
to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.
The
zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
As
we all know the child who was born in Bethlehem was Jesus.
We
are told that He will be called Wonderful.
We
are told that He will be called Counsellor.
We
are told that He will be called The mighty God.
We
are told that He will be called The Everlasting Father.
We
are told that He will be called The Prince Of Peace.
From
this we can see quite clearly that Christ and the Father
are
one and the same.
Revelation 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name
written,
KING
OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
We
see additional titles of this same person.
He
is not only the Prince of Peace but also the King of Kings
and
Lord of Lords.
Many
think that God the Father as a separate person carried out the Creation.
This
is not the case.
We
can see from the first chapter of the gospel of John
that
Christ carried out the creation and Christ and the Father
are
one and the same.
Christ
was they physical incarnation of God the Spirit.
John 1:1 In the
beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
John 1:2
The same was in the beginning
with God.
John 1:3
All things were made by him; and
without him was not any thing
made that was made.
John 1:4 In him
was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:5
And the light shineth in
darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
John 1:6 There was a
man sent from God, whose name was John.
John 1:7 The same
came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light,
that
all men through him might believe.
John 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear
witness of that Light.
John 1:9 That
was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by
him,
and the world knew him not.
John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him
not.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he
power to become
the sons of God,
even to them that believe on his name:
John 1:13
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,
nor of the will of man, but
of God.
John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
(and we beheld his glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)
full of grace and truth.
John 1:15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying,
This was he of whom I spake,
He that cometh after me is
preferred before me: for he was before me.
John 1:16
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
John 1:17
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus
Christ.
John 1:18
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son,
which is in the bosom of
the Father, he hath declared him.
The
beginning referred to far exceeds the beginning mentioned in Genesis,
As
God has always existed.
Scripture is crystal clear showing that God is One.
John 10:30
I and my Father are one.
John 14:7 If ye
had known me, ye should have known my Father also:
and
from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
John 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the
Father, and it sufficeth us.
John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have
I been so long time with you,
and
yet hast thou not known me, Philip?
he
that hath seen me hath seen the Father;
and
how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father,
and the Father in me?
the words
that I speak unto you I speak not of myself:
but the
Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Christ said that He was
the Truth.
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him,
I am
the way,
the truth, and
the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
He
then went on to say that when He was ascended that He would send them
the
Comforter and the Spirit of Truth.
Christ
had to ascend and return as the Spirit of Truth.
We
can therefore see that the Holy Spirit is also none
other
than Christ.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give
you another Comforter,
that
he may abide with you for ever;
John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world
cannot receive,
because it seeth him
not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him;
for he dwelleth with
you, and shall be in you.
We
need to understand how awesome it is to become a genuine Christian
a
born again Christian, because it is the Godhead that makes us His home.
It
is not some nebulous nothingness.
As
Jesus Christ was man and yet God, He became our intercessor
our
interface. You could consider it like his God side could face
the
Father and his human side could face us.
This
is only by way of illustration as there is only one God.
The
concept of anyone else being our intercessor is blasphemous.
1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God,
and one mediator
between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
It
is blasphemous for any human being or angel to elevate themselves
to
the level of the Jesus Christ, the Eternal God.
There
are no positive references to a Queen of heaven in the entire bible.
The
only counter part to Christ is the warrior Bride,
the
man child as previously explained.
There
is certainly no spiritual Queen of heaven as a counter part to Christ
the
King of Kings.
Here
are the five references to the Queen of heaven.
You
can see that the Queen of heaven is part of demonic
idolatrous
worship
This
is referring to Ishtar or the pagan ‘Easter’.
The
word Easter should not appear in the bible at all.
The
word Pascha which appears 27 times is translated 26 times
as
Passover and once as Easter.
This
translation of the word to Easter is
wrong and a satanic ploy
to
confuse.
The
Jews never celebrated Easter.
The
Early church were mainly Jewish.
Jeremiah 7:18
The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire,
and
the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven,
and
to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
Jeremiah 44:17
But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth
out
of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven,
and
to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers,
our
kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of
Jerusalem:
for
then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
Jeremiah 44:18
But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven,
and
to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things,
and
have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
Jeremiah 44:19
And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven,
and
poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her,
and
pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?
Jeremiah 44:25
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying;
Ye
and your wives have both spoken with your mouths,
and
fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have
vowed,
to
burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her:
ye
will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
The
people were complaining that while they carried out their idolatrous
worship
things went well with them.
When
they stopped things went badly.
They
failed to understand the importance of obedience to the Eternal
whether
things appear to be going well or badly.
You
can see that as the report continues Judah was punished for their wrong doing.
Jeremiah 44:27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good:
and
all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be
consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.
Jeremiah 44:28
Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out
of
the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah,
that
are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there,
shall
know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.
Jeremiah 44:29 And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the
LORD,
that
I will punish you in this place,
that
ye may know that my
words shall surely stand against you for evil:
There
is one God.
There
is one mediator Christ.
Any
other idea is not supported by The Word Of God.
What
are you going to do about it before it is too late?
