Leviticus 23:5 In the
fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover.
The First mention of ‘Passover’
is in the Old Testament.
Exodus 12:11 And thus shall ye
eat it; with
your
loins girded,
your
shoes on your feet, and
your
staff in your hand;
and
ye shall eat it in haste:
it is
the LORD’S passover.
It was a once a year event on
a specific date and time.
Exodus 12:2 This month shall be unto you the beginning
of months:
it shall be the first month of the year
to you.
Exodus 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month:
and the whole assembly of the
congregation of Israel shall kill it in the
evening.
The Eternal established it as an
act to remind the nation of Israel
of their delivery from severe
bondage in the Land of Egypt.
This is a type of the bondage
that we are kept in today,
under a merciless Satan who was
represented by Pharoah.
Exodus 2:23 And it came to pass
in process of time,
that the king of Egypt died: and
the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage,
and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.
24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant
with Abraham,
with Isaac, and with Jacob.
25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect
unto them.
Moses was specifically chosen
and sent as their deliverer.
Exodus 3:9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the
children of Israel is come unto me:
and I have also seen the
oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.
10 Come now
therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh,
that thou mayest bring forth my
people the children of Israel out of Egypt.
In the confrontation which
followed between Moses, Aaron and Pharoah
we see that ten plagues were
sent against the nation of Egypt,
yet they did not let the people
go, because Pharoah’s heart was hardened.
It is interesting that thousands
of years later our Passover Lamb,
would also be the first born.
Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son,
and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid him in a manger;
because there was no room for
them in the inn.
The final plague was that the
first born of the people,
and animals of Egypt would be
destroyed.
Exodus 11:4 And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD,
About midnight will I go out
into the midst of Egypt:
5 And all the firstborn in the land
of Egypt shall die,
from the firstborn of Pharaoh
that sitteth upon his throne,
even unto the firstborn of the
maidservant that is behind the mill;
and all the firstborn of beasts.
6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt,
such as there was none like it,
nor shall be like it any more.
7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move
his tongue,
against man or beast: that ye
may know how that the LORD
doth put a difference between
the Egyptians and Israel.
There was only one way to avoid
the death of the first born.
When the Lord Himself would pass
over the house,
when he saw the blood on the
lintels of the door,
no one nor any animals in that house
would be killed.
Exodus 12:13 And the blood shall
be to you for a token upon the houses
where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you,
and the plague shall not be upon
you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
From Genesis to Revelation the
theme of obedience is paramount.
To be an Israelite was not
enough, neither is it today.
There is no salvation by association.
I believe that if any Egyptians
believed what Moses and Aaron said and obeyed
they would not suffer any loss either.
If only we will humble ourselves
and obey, our lives would much happier.
Passover required the shedding
of blood.
There were specific requirements
for the lamb or goat.
It had to be a yearling
It had to be selected on the 10th
day of the first month.
Exodus 12:3 Speak ye unto all
the congregation of Israel, saying, In the
tenth day of this month they shall take to
them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an
house:
The sheep or goat had to be without
blemish to represent a spotless Christ.
Exodus 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year:
ye
shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
The lamb had to be kept until
the 14th when it would be
killed.
Exodus 12:6 And ye shall keep
it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the
congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
The killing of the lamb would
have been a little harder for the people as they would
have grown more fond of it
having kept it specially for a few days.
Exodus 13:14 And this day shall
be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout
your generations;
ye
shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
The people were instructed to
keep this ordinance forever.
This was a very important
command as this was a type of the sacrifice of Christ
which was to happen thousands of
years later.
As normally is the case, we do exactly the opposite of what
we are commanded to do, of course with a very good reason.
The fact is that often not only is it the opposite but often
it is a matter of adopting some pagan custom instead of doing
what the Eternal says.
The Eternal says remember to observe the Passover.
We say we will observe the date on which Christ was supposedly born.
A little basic research shows that He could never have been born
on the pagan festival of December 25, but in the Autumn.
We then go on to celebrate His resurrection on Easter Sunday,
another pagan Festival.
How could even the supposed day that Christ died be ever called ‘Good’.
The death of Christ is the greatest tragedy that has ever occurred,
although mercifully, it bought us salvation.
It is also very easy to check that Christ did not die on “Good Friday”,
nor was He resurrected on Easter Sunday.
The Israelites were also
precisely the date and time of the Passover.
Exodus 12:6 And ye shall keep
it up until the fourteenth day of the same month:
and
the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
Therefore the Passover ordinance
was carried out on the fourteenth day
of the first month, Nisan in the
Hebrew calendar.
The lamb has to be roasted not
boiled and then eaten with bitter herbs.
Exodus 12:8 And they shall eat
the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter
herbs they shall eat it.
9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with
water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance
(entrails) thereof.
The
Israelites were told precisely how they should keep the feast, which followed
the Passover day for seven days, and the penalty for disobedience.
Keep
in mind that genuine Christians are children of Abraham and spiritual
Israelites.
Exodus 12:15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your
houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the
seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
The reason
for the feast and the meetings are given.
Exodus 12:16 And in the first day there shall
be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy
convocation to you; no manner of work shall be
done in them, save that which every man must
eat, that only may be done of you.
17 And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened
bread; for in this selfsame day have
I
brought your armies out of the land of Egypt:
therefore
shall ye observe this day in your generations
by an
ordinance for ever.
18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of
the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth
day of the month at even.
19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in
your houses: for whosoever eateth that which
is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel,
whether
he be a stranger, or born in the land.
20 Ye shall eat
nothing leavened; in all your habitations
shall ye eat unleavened bread.
It should be noted that all uses
of leaven in the bible is to denote something
negative, mostly sin.
Although it might not appear
this way in some parables, this is because
of misunderstanding the parables
which deal with leaven.
Many sometimes see leaven in a
positive way and at other times a negative way.
This is incorrect.
In the parables leaven denotes
sin or negative things.
Leaven is so all pervasive that
it is quite impossible to get rid of all leaven in
a house.
We have seen that the details
about the feast of Passover and unleavened bread
were very precise and nothing
has happened to stop the observance of Passover.
The ‘celebration of the Mass’,
is a blasphemous counterfeit of Passover.

We can now look at the New
Covenant application, of which the Old Testament
was a type, with Christ the
perfect sacrifice.
Matthew 26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it,
and brake it,
and
gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and
gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 For this is my blood of the new testament,
which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
The
phrase ‘This is my body’, has been taken out of context and has therefore been used
to cause
many hundreds of millions of ‘Christians’ to believe and practice a great
abominable lie.
The
teaching of the Roman Catholic Mass, which says that the round communion wafer
literally becomes the body of Christ, because Jesus said ‘This is my body’.
We
will first of all analyse technically the Grammar of the sentence.
The
first point to consider is the word ‘is’.
In
the Figure Metaphor the Verb IS always means represents”,
and
must always so be expressed.
It
can never mean “is changed into”.
Hence
in the Figure Metaphor, the Verb “represents” can always be
substituted for “IS’
Some
examples:
“The field is (or represents) the world” (Matthew 13:38)
“The good seed are (represent) the sons of the kingdom” (Matthew 13:38)
“This
cup is (represents)
the new covenant (1 Corinthians 11:25)
The
doctrine of transubstantiation or the literal changing of the ‘communion host’
and
the wine into the literal body and blood of Christ is a lie.
The
second point is the grammar of the sentence.
… It
is a fundamental law in Greek grammar, without exception,
that
the Article, Pronoun, and Adjective must agree in gender with the Noun
to
which they refer.
An
example of this:
Matthew 16:18 And I say also
unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall
not prevail against it.
The
pronoun “this”
is Feminine,
and thus agrees with petra, which is also
feminine,
and
not with petros (Peter), which is Masculine.
(Comment:
This means that Peter was not the rock on which the church would be built,
according
to the grammar of the sentence.
Christ
was the Rock, not the stone on which the Eternal would build his church.
Additionally
scripture is very clear and also defines the Rock as Christ.
1 Corinthians 10:4 And did all drink
the same spiritual drink:
for
they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed
them: and that Rock was Christ.)
We
have to look at the sentence in its entirety and not split it up as is
convenient to do,
and
thus to deceive others.
Matthew 26:26 Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it,
and
gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
The
pronoun “this”
is Neuter,
and cannot agree with artos (“bread”)
because
artos is
Masculine, It must refer to what is Neuter;
and this can only be the whole act of breaking bread,
which would be Neuter also;
or to
klasma, the broken piece (which is also Neuter).
In
like manner, when He said (in Verse 28) “this
is my blood of the New Covenant”;
“this”,
being Neuter refers
to poterion (=cup) and not to oinous (=wine), which is Masculine,
and
means:-
“This
[cup] represents My blood of the New Covenant, which is poured out for
many
for the remission of sins”.

What
is the purpose of keeping the Passover?
The Bible in Basic English
1 Corinthians 11:26 For whenever you take the bread and the cup
you give witness to the Lord’s death till he comes.
I am not saying that we cannot rejoice in the resurrection of Christ.
What I am saying is that He said to celebrate His death as a witness
of the death of Christ for us.
If we do not do that we are not witnessing about the Lord’s death
however much we might talk.
We are told to remember Christ’s death because:
1) We killed the God-man, Christ, who created us,
2) His death brought salvation to all mankind.
This means that without it, ultimately we would cease to exist forever.
This is an exceedingly important fact which we should remember
all the time, and we should celebrate The Passover at the ordained time
as we have been commanded.
The important prophecies starting with the book of Genesis,
that there would be a Redeemer were precisely fulfilled.
The Eternal is always true to His word down to the tiniest detail.
Acts 3:18 But those things, which God before had shewed
by the mouth of all his prophets,
that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
We also see in the verse that this demands a response from us,
which goes far beyond turning up on a service on Good Friday,
or Easter Sunday.
Acts 3:19 Repent ye
therefore, and be converted,
that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing
shall come from the presence of the Lord;
At this last supper, Christ was making a New and better Covenant
as had been foretold.
Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD,
that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel,
and with the house of Judah.
In the Old Testament the shedding of blood was required
when making atonement or a covenant.
There is a great deal written about atonement in the Old Testament.
There is even a holy day called the Day of Atonement Leviticus 23:27.
We will only use a single quotation to show that atonement
required blood.
Exodus 29:31 And thou shalt take the ram of the consecration,
and seethe his flesh in the holy place.
32 And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram,
and the bread that is in the basket, by the door of the tabernacle
of the congregation.
33 And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made,
to consecrate and to sanctify them:
but a stranger shall not eat thereof, because they are holy.
This is how a covenant was made and sealed with the death
of an animal.
Jeremiah 34:18 And I will give the men that have transgressed
my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant
which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain,
and passed between the parts thereof,
The New Covenant application of the Passover, is that it is a memorial
of all that Christ accomplished on our behalf at His death,
when He was offered as a perfect sacrifice, a Paschal Lamb,
for our salvation. Our obedience shows our deep appreciation and
heartfelt gratitude for what has been done for us.
1 Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ,
as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
How and when do we observe it today.
Leviticus 23:5 In the fourteenth day of the first month
at even is the LORD’S passover.
The time is the start of the fourteenth day of the first month,
this means that it starts at what for us today is, the evening before.
The following evening is the start of the First of seven days
of eating unleavened bread.
If we follow Christ’s example, once a year on Nisan 14,
we would have a meal and after the meal with other genuine believers,
we would share some wine and some unleavened bread,
that is bread baked without yeast or any rising agent, which represents sin.
We would all read some relevant passages of scripture to the others
in the little meeting, that is if you were fortunate enough to be able
to meet with others.
According to the scripture it was not a big song singing service,
but rather when they had finished partaking of the bread and wine
they sang a single song and dismissed.
Matthew 26:30 And when they had sung an hymn,
they went out into the mount of Olives.
There was another act which was carried out at the Passover meal.
Christ washed the feet of his 12 apostles, note there were only
His chosen followers at this special supper, not everyone who followed Him.
John 13:4 He Christ riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments;
and took a towel, and girded himself.
John 13:5 After that he poureth water into a bason,
and began to wash the disciples’ feet,
and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
We can see from this account by the Apostle John, that we should
also follow this example.
John 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet;
ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
We should daily have a foot washing attitude in our service to others.
It should not be just a once a year, see how humble I am practice,
but a way of life.
Passover and unleavened bread should be observed today, out of obedience
to the command and to show respect for what Christ did for us, by willingly sacrificing
Himself in our place.
For those who say all things have been fulfilled and this is an Old Covenant
practice read carefully the above and following verses to establish for yourself
that it is a practice that we should still be carrying out and which will be carried out for Eternity
to remember what Christ has done for us.
Sunday, Christmas, Easter and Good Friday will never ever be carried out when Christ
rules the earth.
It simply will never happen.
The Sabbath, The Passover and all the other ordained Feast Days will.
This is a statement of fact.
This scripture establishes the time frame.
Zechariah 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth:
in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
What will be doing then?
Isaiah 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make,
shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one
new moon to another,
and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me,
saith the LORD.
Zechariah 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left
of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King,
the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
So you thought that the Sabbath and the Holy days were done away with or fulfilled
did you?
Think again.
You do not have to become a Jew or join the Seventh Day Adventists or any such thing.
What you have to do is simply obey what you can see with your own eyes.
In time the Eternal will point you to other genuine faithful believers.
Meanwhile you might have to stand alone.
Carrying out the Eternal’s commands will not make you flavour of the month
with your family and friends, but at least you might be accounted worth
to escape the dreadful hour of trial that is coming upon the world.

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience,
I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world,
to try them that dwell upon the earth.
This hour of temptation is the Great Tribulation a time of chaos, suffering,
greater than anything previously seen, but that is another topic.

out of this dilemma is Jesus Christ.
He is the only way of escape.
