and the truth shall make you free.”
Ecclesiastes 1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief:
and he that increases knowledge increases sorrow.
Jeremiah
9:6 Your
habitation is in the midst of deceit;
through deceit they refuse to know me, says the LORD.
Control
and manipulation is a disaster of the greatest magnitude because it completely
prevents
and hinders holiness in the one who suffers this hindrance.
The
reason is that it creates a barrier
which separates
the
people of God from the Eternal.
This
is a condition which is much more common than we would at first think.
It
masquerades under the guise of church government.
Holiness
is the result of carrying out instructions from the Eternal,
whatever
those instructions might be.
Holiness
is not a matter that some purported ‘Holy Person’ has said a set of specific
words,
which
are a formula in a book, or going through a particular ritual or tradition,
which
is often a complete mystery to those participating in this activity.
This
performance, because that is what it is, is exactly what our adversary uses to
entrap us.
The
staff that Moses carried was just an ordinary piece of stick, a piece of wood.
There
were no special prayers said over it.
It
was the obedience of Moses which made the rod holy.
The
reason for this is that Moses was following what we call Rhema,
which
is the Living direct word of the Eternal.
The
ordinary rod now became extraordinary,
simply
because of obedience to the word of God.
In
obedience he cast down the staff and it became a snake.
The
hand of Moses also became holy, because he obeyed the Eternal directly.
Exodus 4:3 And he said, Cast
it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground,
and
it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.
4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth your
hand, and take it by the tail.
And
he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:
Here
we see two miracles the rod becoming a serpent when Moses threw it
to
the ground as he was told.
Next
we see him hold the snake by the tail and it became a rod again.
We
see two more miracles, his hand is made holy when he again obeyed and put his
hand
in
his bosom. It became leprous and when he took it out it became normal
again.
The
hand of Moses became an extension of the Lord’s hand.
Exodus 7: 5 And the Egyptians
shall know that I am the LORD,
when
I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt,
and
bring out the children of Israel from among them.
Further
more the Eternal says that it was He, that was bringing
Israel
out of Egypt.
So
we see that it was not only the hand of Moses that was an extension
of
the Eternal, but Moses, himself.
When
the people grumbled against Moses, the Eternal also took
it
personally, that they were complaining against Him.
The
staff, hand and very voice of Moses and Aaron were awesome tools
that
the Eternal used.
Due
to the hesitancy of Moses to carry out the Eternal’s will, he was given
Aaron
to be his spokesman.
The
power of Aaron was the same as Moses.
It
was the same Spirit operating.
Holy
people and things are for the Eternal’s use and purpose.
A
go-between completely prevents this direct empowering link.
When
we understand this, we can see why control and manipulation is such
important
area for our adversary to impose on us.
Instead
of having the power of the Eternal we end us with his feeble false lying power.
Often
the fear is that those in leadership fear greatly that they would
lose
their authority, status and position, if they allowed and indeed
encouraged
their flock to listen to and obey the Eternal directly.
This
is a sad and unfortunate lack of understanding.
If
it was realised that everyone has their function clearly defined
from
before the foundation of the earth.
Therefore
there is no need, and it is even pointless for us to compete with one another
to
get ourselves into a better or superior position over others.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good
works,
which
God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
These
good works are not the activities that we classify as good works.
These
works were ordained in eternity past and they were the works
which
the Eternal has assigned to us who have been created in Christ Jesus,
that
is born anew.
There
is a formula for holiness, we have to
Listen to the Eternal,
Obey the Eternal
Exercise
total Faith in the Eternal,
Use
the power entrusted to us as directed by the
Eternal.
Today
we do not listen, therefore we do not hear.
If
we do not hear we are unable to obey.
The
end result is that the church is utterly powerless, degraded,
and
even worse in the clutches of witchcraft and the occult.
This
can be a real dilemma for those who have been converted
from
‘powerful witchcraft’ to feeble Christianity.
Time
and again during the Exodus you will see Moses employing
the
very real power which had been entrusted to him.
The
entire Tabernacle and its contents in the wilderness were holy
because
they had been made according to the detailed instructions of the Eternal.
If
Moses had not followed his blueprint precisely and if he added some utensils,
or
designs of his own, instead of the Tabernacle being holy, the whole thing
would
have been an abomination – Strange Fire -
and would probably have
resulted
in the demise of the nation of Israel.
Elijah
became holy because he obeyed.
He
owned very little, but that which he had was holy because of its use.
Elijah’s
mantle was used to perform miracles.
2 Kings 2:8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together,
and
smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither,
so
that they two went over on dry ground.
The
mantle maintained it’s holiness when it passed to Elisha, as he believed.
It
is nothing to do with superstition, incantations, magic, or mumbo-jumbo.
We
are called to be lights to the world and to have rivers of Living Water
flow
out of us, NOW. Note
the present tense ‘you are’
Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the
world.
A
town put on a hill may be seen by all.
Being
a light has absolutely nothing to do with wearing some kind of cross and
having
a little fish emblem stuck on your vehicle.
John 7:38 He that believeth
on me, as the scripture hath said,
out
of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Unfortunately
this is not the state of most Christians.
Rivers
of Living Water originate at the throne of God.
Revelation 22:1 And he showed me a
pure river of water of life,
clear
as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God
and of the Lamb.
This
is again a statement of fact.
We
are just drops in the river, but do not despise the day of small things.
We
need to know absolutely who we are, and where we stand.
That
is the source of the power available to us, not some ritual or procedure.
What
the Eternal has spoken will happen with or without us.
We
should do whatever we are told to do.
Our
natural inclination is not to like this at all, neither did
Naaman
like this one little bit.
2 Kings 5:1 Now Naaman,
captain of the host of the king of Syria,
was
a great man with his master, and honourable,
because
by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria:
he
was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.
Today
there are many Naamans, and they also do not like it one little bit
that
the Eternal is using people who are trying to cooperate with him
rather
than with them, the Naamans.
2 Kings 5:10 And Elisha sent a
servant to him, saying, Go to Jordan,
and
after washing seven times in its waters your flesh
will
be well again and you will be clean.
11 But Naaman was angry and went away and said,
I
had the idea that he would come out to see such an important person as I am,
and
make prayer to the Lord his God,
and
with a wave of his hand over the place make the leper well.
Today
we desire to make the Eternal adhere to our will.
We
want Him to make our will His will.
We
earnestly desire Him to follow our personal agenda and our wishes.
Quite
unbelievably we are actually trying to control and manipulate the Eternal.
This
also means that we are exalting ourselves above Him.
We
had better wake up very quickly from our sleepy dream state otherwise
when
we awaken, we will find that it is not a dream at all but a nightmare.

Naaman’s
choice was simple, wash and be cleansed of leprosy or
do
not wash and remain a leper.
It
was an insignificant servant girl who persuaded this mighty man to wake up and
obey.
Fortunately
for him he did and was healed.
It
is the same today.
Many
want high and mighty preachers to bring the earth shaking messages.
Sometime
ago, after I spoke someone came up to me and said about the message
that
I had just given, if any one else had given that message it would have been a
good one.
What
was meant was that they were not satisfied by the vessel the Eternal chose to
use
on
that occasion, but the message was fine.
You
have to believe to receive, there is no other way.
Healing
the sick and raising the dead is all part of our commission.
Mark 16: 17 And these signs
shall follow them that believe;
In
my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they
drink any deadly thing,
it
shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick,
cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils:
freely
ye have received, freely give.
Of
course signs and wonders should neither be our goal or our focus.
This
must be Christ.
Nonetheless
it is part of our calling.
Similarly
dreams and visions are for our time, regardless of what the leaders say.
Acts 2:17 And it shall come
to pass in the last days, says God,
I
will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:
and
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Acts 2:18 And on my servants
and on my handmaidens
I
will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
Now
this becomes very scary for the leaders as they see their control and
manipulation
going
down the tube.
It
is so absurd as the more people who allow the Eternal to work
through
them the more powerful the church would be.
But
we have the good old standby.
We
elevate Satan above God and then anything that does not fit in with our
opinions,
we
do not worry what the Word says, we brand it of the devil and evil.
When
we say listen to what God has to say to you, the immediate response is
how
do you know it is not Satan speaking?
Often
it is quite simple really.
When
you are being horrible to your spouse and totally out of order,
and
that little voice says, you know you should not be bashing your partner
either
physically or verbally like that, go and apologise and mean it.
Of
course that word would be from Satan, wouldn’t it?
When
you are prompted to do a good turn for someone who has caused you great grief
of
course that would also be Satan telling that to you wouldn’t it?
The
problem with all of these types of things is that we can play all the games we
wish,
and
to our hearts delight. However, we need to realise that the Eternal is not
playing a game.
So
we had better be sensible, stop our stupidity and wake up to reality before it
is too late.
To
confront the enemy requires that we,
Listen to the Eternal,
Obey the Eternal
Exercise
total Faith in the Eternal,
Use
the power entrusted to us as directed by the
Eternal.
This
frightens us,
so
we hate to confront the enemy as we should and we make up all sorts
of
fancy arguments to ensure that we ignore our calling.
The
Eternal is real.
Satan
is real.
The
deception is real.
Miracles
are real.
Intellectual
knowledge is not Life.
We
have to experience the Life of Christ in our daily living,
otherwise
our best efforts are a mere shadow of the real thing.
We
are called to be lights not shadows.
In darkness even shadows disappear.
Control
and manipulation are the equivalent of a diversion to a circular route.
Unless, somehow you can get off this road,
regardless of the length of the journey,
the
best you can hope to achieve is to end up where you started.
In
the UK we have the M25 motorway which encircles London.
It
is also known as the biggest car park in the country.
It
is quite normal to spend countless hours going nowhere.
That
is exactly where most Christians are spiritually, as their pointless,
even
miserable lives uselessly ebb away, as they are controlled and manipulated
in
every area of their lives, their church, their government, the media,
the
system, and their families.
We
must wake up and refuse to accept the deception that if we are not acceptable
and
do exactly what our peer group ordains, we are somehow lost.
This
is a lie.
As
Kings and Priests which is our calling, you can only succeed and never ever
fail
if
you simply do the following regardless of what your peers say.
Listen to the Eternal,
Obey the Eternal
Exercise
total Faith in the Eternal,
Use
the power entrusted to us as directed by the
Eternal.
The only way out of this dilemma is Jesus Christ.
He is the only way of escape.
Praise the Lord.
