Can The Elect be Deceived ? by Peter James

The short answer is Yes, they can and have been deceived.

Whether they know it or not is immaterial.

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets,

and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible,

they shall deceive the very elect.

Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise,

and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

Countless hundreds of millions of ‘Christians’, believe that they are the elect.

These Christians have conflicting beliefs and doctrines, even within the same church.

However, as they have been told by their ministers that they are the ‘elect’,

they are quite comfortable that they cannot be deceived because of the two verses

mentioned and were the words of Christ.

Some of these people are so deceived that they boldly acknowledge that in

their ‘church’, there is disagreement on a wide range of issues.

Often it is quite simple for an outsider to see that one is deceived and the other is not.

The fact is that the above verse does not state that the ‘elect’ cannot be deceived.

In both cases the words it were are in italics.

This means that the translators added them in an attempt to help to clarify

the meaning of the verse.

As we have previously stated, sometimes this act by the translators

can have exactly the opposite effect, if we do not read the verse very carefully.

It can mislead.

This is one such case.

What believers are being warned about is that our adversary is seeking whom he might

destroy and we need to be careful, because like a thief, if it is possible for him to break

in and enter your house he will do so. It is therefore in our best interests to ensure

that is not possible for the thief to enter in.

If we do not listen to and obey they Eternal, I assure you our adversary will deceive

and seduce us.

We can see that it does really matter, in a very important way.

We can say, oh yes all these people are going to ‘church’ and reading their bibles,

they must be the elect.

This is what Christ said

Matthew 7:21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord,

Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;

but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?

and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

We all cannot just do our own thing and believe that ‘It will be alright on the night’.

It just does not work that way.

This is exactly what they did in ancient Israel.

Judges 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel:

every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Simple logic shows us that two churches who have totally opposite doctrines,

cannot both be right, and whether they both think of themselves as elect or not,

one of them is deceived.

There is much written in the bible about deception and seduction of the people of God,

but few believe it could be them.

Jeremiah 7:8 Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.

Jeremiah 6:14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly,

saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

Everyone is speaking about Peace, the pastors are speaking about Peace

and unity for Peace, but the reality is that there is no Peace.

There is rather fear.

Most do not realize that Peace is a person.

Without that person there will never be Peace.

It is very important to note that in Jeremiah 6:14 it says,

Everyone is speaking about Peace. That word Peace is in the middle of the sentence

and it is preceded by a comma. It has a capital P, we can take it that

the translators were very careful in what they did. They seem to be fully aware

that Peace was a person.

Ephesians 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one,

and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

It is the very people whom we trust that are used to deceive us.

Jeremiah 29:23 Because they have committed villany in Israel,

and have committed adultery with their neighbours’ wives,

and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them;

even I know, and am a witness, saith the LORD.

The deception comes from exactly the place that we least expect it.

Ezekiel 13:17 Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people,

which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them,

Ezekiel 13:1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Ezekiel 13:2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy,

and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts,

Hear ye the word of the LORD;

Ezekiel 13:3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit,

and have seen nothing!

Ezekiel 13:4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.

Ezekiel 13:5 Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel

to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.

Ezekiel 13:6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith:

and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope

that they would confirm the word.

Ezekiel 13:7 Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, ]

whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?

Ezekiel 13:8 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies,

therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel 13:9 And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies:

they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written

in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel;

and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel 13:10 Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying,

Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall,

and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter:

These are not trivial, unimportant, intellectual arguments, but rather critical

must know, freedom giving information.

Christ came to set the captives free, our goal is the very same.

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me

to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

As I have nothing to sell, and do not make requests for money or have any group to join

I can speak the truth and tell it as it is.

We oppose the people who say that certain books should not be in the bible.

There is a big move to discredit all of Paul’s writings.

If you do away with Paul’s writings, you have to do away with Luke’s gospel,

as he was a co-worker with Paul.

If you do away with the gospel of Luke,

you have to do away with the Acts of the Apostles, as Luke wrote that.

Some say that we should only accept the first five books of the bible,

and what is recorded in red letters in a red letter bible which are the direct words of Christ.

This is more than absurd.

Are we saying that the quill of the scribe suddenly became accurate when he quoted Christ?

Of course a very important question is that having accepted the first five books as ‘True’,

do we actually obey them?

Very soon we will be told that we have to do away with the entire bible,

and then the New World Order will be foisted on us.

Can you imagine this already existing situation.

You make it a serious crime to possess a bible, as it is in several countries,

and then suddenly make the bible available. The spiritually hungry people will lap it up.

The only problem is that it will be a corrupt bible, as many versions are today.

Let us be careful not to be walking around with a spiritual insurance policy

which is null and void.

I had such a policy on my home.

My insurers cancelled the policy without telling me.

For 5 months I had no insurance on the building or the contents, and I had no idea at all.

It was only when I went to raise a claim that I found out that the policy did not exist.

The reality is that most people who call themselves ‘Christians’, are deceived.

The seduction is so subtle, that those caught do not even know that it has happened,

especially as things seem to be going very well, which they take it to mean that they

are being blessed for their ‘good spiritual condition’.

This is a great deception.

Do not let anyone fool you that there are no people with Laodicean Attitudes today.

Revelation 3:14 ¶ And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write;

These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness,

the beginning of the creation of God;

Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,

I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing;

and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Revelation 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich;

and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed,

and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve,

that thou mayest see.

Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Yes this verse is speaking to believers who do not know their true position.

It is for this reason that we are COMMANDED to repent and furthermore to come out of false

religious Babylon

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying,

Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins,

and that ye receive not of her plagues.

This is not a request, but a commandment.

It is not only possible to be deceived, but in my own experience,

it is exceedingly easy to be deceived, even when you thought that you have

practiced due diligence.

This is probably the most important lesson I have learnt in the past few years.

Deception is very possible, and we have to seek the Eternal to ensure that we are not deceived.

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent,

called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:

he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

This verse did not exclude you or me.

We will be led into all Truth.

This also means that before we are led into all Truth, we are deceived.

Therefore we are all, without exception, are being led out of deception into Truth

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come,

he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself;

but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
