Understanding Atonement

I believe that understanding Atonement,

is one of the most difficult Festivals in the Bible.

We can see that the translators had a very hard time,

translating it.

Here are some points to help.

We find details of the day of Atonement in Leviticus Chapter 16.

Here we see that there are two goats involved.

Leviticus 16:8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats;

one lot for the LORD, and

the other lot for the scapegoat.

If you have a bible with a central margin, you will see that it says

that the word scapegoat can be replaced by the word Azazel.

It makes a great difference when you do this, where ever you see

the word scapegoat.

The use of the word scapegoat is unfortunate, because it suggests

the exact opposite of what the word Azazel does.

Collins English dictionary states: Scapegoat

1. a person made to bear the blame for others . . .

In Enoch Chapter 8, we are told the various things

which fallen angels taught mankind, however not everything.

There is much contention over what is the meaning of the word Azazel.

We are told In the Book of

Enoch Chapter 8:1 and Azazel taught men to make swords, and knives,

and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals (of the earth)

and the art of working them, . . .

We are told that the person who was directly taught by Azazel was Tubalcain.

Genesis 4:22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain,

an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron:

and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.

He was not just a teacher, as the word “instructer” suggests.

He primarily made tools out of brass and iron.

Of course then he could pass on his skill, as he desired.

This is how the Hebrew Bible translates it.

Genesis 4:22 Tzilah gave birth to Tuval-Kayin,

who forged all kinds of tools from brass and iron;

the sister of Tuval-Kayin was Na‘amah.

We are clearly told that the devil, Satan was a liar and a murderer from

the beginning. Therefore it would be natural for him to teach the ways

in which we can kill others, from before they are born,

right up to when they are elderly, and ready to die.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.

He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth,

because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie,

he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Nothing has changed for almost 6,000 years.

Genesis 4 is long before the flood.

Man had already been taught the skill of using metails, by Satan himself.

Leviticus 16:8 And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats;

one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for Azazel. (Satan)

Now it becomes much clearer.

One goat represents Christ, the LORD, who was sacrificed,

when He paid the price for all of our sins, by being crucified on the cross.

The other goat represents Satan.

Satan was not being blamed for the activity of others,

as per the dictionary definition..

The Eternal God does not operate in this manner.

Genesis 3:1 ¶ Now the serpent (Satan) was more subtil than any beast

of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman,

Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

He not only seduced Eve, but all of mankind, who has ever lived.

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent,

called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:

he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

There are only 3 specific beings, who have already been judged.

Their final place is the lake of fire.

They are Satan, the beast, called the anti-Christ, and the False Prophet.

Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake

of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are,

and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Just as Passover at the beginning of the Eternal’s year pictured

the literal death of Christ, Atonement seven months later,

again reminds us of the death of Christ.

Leviticus 23:27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day

of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you;

and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

Atonement also explains that the great deceiver, Satan, who is still alive and well,

will have all of the sins of the world, for which he is ultimately responsible,

placed on his head. He will be “at one ment” with them.

This is nothing to do with forgiveness.

It is rather depositing blame, where it belongs.

They will be part of his composite being.

In other words, it shows that he has already been judged.

He must be getting more and more miserable every single second of every day,

as his burden increases dramatically.

This is what happens to the Azazel goat, the live goat.

Here we see that all the sins of Biblical Israel are placed on the goat.

This will ultimately include all sins, period.

Leviticus 16:21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head

of the live goat,

and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel,

and all their transgressions in all their sins,

putting them upon the head of the goat,

The entire world is becoming more and more of a wilderness

every single day.

and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:

Leviticus 16:22 And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities

unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

In the meantime he and his false shepherds go through the wilderness of the earth,

not like a simple ram, but rather a ravenous lion.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil,

as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Ezekiel 22:25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof,

like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls;

they have taken the treasure and precious things;

they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
