Breaking All Chains
Setting The Captives Free
Profound Blessings Of Christians
We have
been warned to expect persecution.
John 15:18 If the world hate you,
ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
We should also note the hate meted out to Christ,
had no foundation, therefore we can expect the very
same thing.
However, against the above, we have to put the staggering blessings,
which genuine believers enjoy, or should be enjoying.
Most do not even know that this is their situation.
We can think that our calling is a ‘recent’ thing.
This is not the case at all.
Some might grasp that we
have been called before
the foundation of the world, as this verse states,
but it states much more than that.
It tells us that we are not just called, but rather,
“chosen us in Him”.
First of all We
are In Christ, (from forever, as it were).
Ephesians
1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him
before the foundation of
the world, that we should be holy
and without blame before
him in love:
This tells us that we are not
chosen to be alone,
though at this time, we may will
live on our own,
but the reality of being chosen,
is that we are chosen in Him,
therefore we are in a specific
position.
In fact we are in the very best possible position, in
Christ.
This means that Christ’s love affair with us has been
going
on, for not only thousands, but
even billions of years.
We should remember that Christ
sees us not as we were,
and not even as we are.
Hebrews 8:12 For I will be
merciful to their unrighteousness,
and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember
no more.
Christ sees us as we have been destined to be.
We might quickly read over all the introductions of Paul,
in his epistles, but they are very informative.
A careful reading of his letter to the church at Colosse,
is surprising. He does not first of all address it to the church
in Colossee, but rather to:
‘The saints and brethren in Christ’.
This shows us that saints are people who are alive,
and they are brethren, but even more importantly their spiritual
position is ‘In Christ’, which is far more important than their
physical location in Colosee.
Colossians 1:1 ¶ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ
by the
will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
Colossians 1:2 To the
saints and faithful brethren
in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you,
and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
In his epistle to the Philippians, having declared himself
and Timothy to be servants of Christ, he immediately
refers to the saints in Christ Jesus.
It is only after this does he mention their physical location.
True believers need to understand that their first
position
in reality, is in Christ, everything else is
secondary.
Philippians
1:1 ¶ Paul and Timotheus, the
servants of
Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus
which are at Philippi,
with the bishops and deacons:
Secondly Christ
is also in all genuine Believers.
John 17:26 And I have
declared unto them thy name,
and will declare it: that the
love wherewith thou
hast loved me may be in them, and
I (Christ) in them.
John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me,
that they may be
made
perfect in one; and that the world may know that
thou hast sent me, and
hast loved them,
as thou hast loved me.
As I have explained many times, the consequence of Christ
in us, as the Holy Spirit, is that which allows us to become perfect.
We see that here:
Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you,
and a new spirit (human Spirit) will
I put within you:
and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh,
and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my spirit (Holy Spirit) within you,
and cause you to walk in my statutes,
and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Thirdly we are
where Christ is.
We are in
heavenly places.
This is the result of points
one and two.
So almost all believers do not know who they are in reality,
and neither do they know where they are.
Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together,
and made us sit together in heavenly places in
Christ Jesus:
If we were only aware of the above,
we would stop complaining about the many things
in the physical, about which we complain.
We do seem to forget that in time, all this is going
to pass
away absolutely, and completely.
Fourthly we have
already been blessed with all spiritual blessings.
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ, who hath
blessed us with all spiritual blessings
in heavenly places in Christ:
Regardless of our environment and
our health,
this is what we have been told.
Notice the sentence is in the past tense.
Both our health and environment
can leave a lot to be desired,
but they are both temporary, and
they will both pass away.
Spiritual blessings are Eternal.
There are many spiritual blessings.
The greatest spiritual blessings are having Christ
dwelling in us,
and for us dwelling in Christ.
This means that we have the same qualities of Christ,
but of course to a lesser degree, as Christ had the
fullness
of the Godhead dwelling in Him.
Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth
all the fulness of the Godhead
bodily.
Genuine Believers have his Love, Peace, Patience,
Faith,
Charity, Joy and any other Holy characteristic,
that we can mention.
As stated in my last document, we
are already kings and priests
right now.
It will not be long before we see
the evidence of this.
Revelation 1:6
And hath made us kings and priests unto God
and his Father; to him
be glory and dominion for ever and ever.
Amen.
We are also told what we will reign with Christ on the
earth.
Revelation 5:10
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests:
and we shall reign on
the earth.
We already have the position, we are now receiving the training.
We can also see how very intimate the relationship between
Christ and true believers is.
Christ says that we are His body
1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one,
and hath many members, and all the members of that one body,
being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all
baptized
into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles,
whether we be bond or free; and have been all made
to drink into one Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:14 For the body is not one member,
but many. . .
1 Corinthians 12:18 But now hath God set the members
every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
Ephesians 3:30 For we are members of his body,
of his flesh,
and of his bones.
So we are not only individually one with Christ,
but as a corporate body, comprised of many members,
we are all together, one with Him.
We will be judged by what we have done in His body.
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before
the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive
the things done in his body, according to that he hath done,
whether it be good or bad.
We are told that true believers are the temple of God.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple
of God,
and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
To begin to understand how we have to be worked on and
improved in order to be the Temple of the Living God,
read 1 Kings Chapters 5,6,7.
You will then be able to understand, how important it
is
to allow yourself to be refined into the position,
which has
already been given to you.
Some people allow their ego and
pride to cause them
to be shipwrecked.
It is true that no one can take
you out of Christ’s hand,
but you have the freewill and you
can choose to rebel
against the Eternal God.
1 Thessalonians 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.
This is the recommended course of action.
Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery
darts of the wicked.
The blessing From the Eternal God, our Father in
heaven,
is indeed stupendous.
What are you going to do about it
before it is too late?
