                                           Setting The Captives Free

                                 Are You Naked ?

In Luke Chapter 18 Christ gives a lecture of what is required,

            from everyone, including believers.

Before mentioning that the commandments need to be observed,

Christ gave a parable of two types of people.

This is very pertinent to the condition in the world today.

            This is the question:

Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

What is your answer to this question?

I personally know dozens of people,

who would answer, “Yes”, ME.

The problem is that the judgment of Christ,

can not only differ, but it can be directly opposite our opinion of ourselves.

Luke 18:8  I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.

Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh,

shall he find faith on the earth?

The Pharisee, was self righteous and despised others.

Luke 18:9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves

that they were righteous, and despised others:

Luke 18:10  Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee,

and the other a publican.

Sometimes people go further and they tell me that they have

not only prayed, but that they have even fasted,

therefore they know that what they are doing is right.

Many also give their tithes and offerings,

to whoever they will, but nothing changes.

It rarely crosses their minds that they are in rebellion,

and actually displeasing the Eternal God.

At the bottom of this lies the reasoning that we are under ‘Grace’,

therefore anything goes.

This is a blatant lie, from our adversary.

The Pharisee prayed, fasted and tithed.

Although he mentions ‘God’, we are told that he prayed to himself.

Luke 18:11  The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee,

that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers,

or even as this publican.

Luke 18:12  I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

[The problem is that there is no fruit to show that the praying and fasting

had done the slightest bit of good.

Matthew 7:20  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.]

Now the commoner, ‘the publican’, had an entirely different attitude.

The Pharisee was arrogant, which is normal today.

The Publican was humble, which is very rare today.

Luke 18:13  And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much

as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying,

God be merciful to me a sinner.

The verdict of Christ is clear.

The arrogant Pharisee has to be brought down to the earth, with a mighty crash.

The humble Publican, was going to be exalted.

Luke 18:14  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other:

for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth

himself shall be exalted.

The Pharisee was naked, and the Publican was clothed.

We can all think that we are immortal, invincible, and all powerful.

We can pompously and arrogantly strut about as much as we wish.

We can rebel, lie, steal and kill as much as we desire.

The reality is that there is a day of reckoning,

from which there is absolutely no escape for anyone.

We will all stand before the Eternal God.

The question is how will you appear?

You can either be clothed or naked.

Those are the only two choices available.

I repeat the option not to appear, does not exist.

I can tell you that billions of people are going to appear

absolutely naked, as the day they were born.

This includes many who claim to be ‘Christians’.

Stripped of all status, possessions, wealth, and even

the clothes in which they were buried, the vast majority will be naked.

When you die, whether your are a Pope, a President, a Peasant,

a Pauper, a Believer or an non-Believer, it will not matter in the slightest.

You can be encased in a gold coffin, a body bag, or a mass grave.

You can be dressed in your very best clothes,

your body and your clothes stay in the grave.

It is your human ‘spirit’, that appears before the Eternal God.

Some think this is the Final judgment.

It is not.

It says you die and right after that you are judged.

This judgment is the decision of where your spirit is going

to wait until it is resurrected to glory or damnation.

Hebrews 9:27  And as it is appointed unto men once to die,

  but after this the judgment:

The choice is Abraham’s bosom for the righteous or the place of

torment for the wicked, i.e. ‘hell’.

Luke 16:22  And it came to pass, that the beggar died,

and was carried by the angels into Abraham‘s bosom:

the rich man also died, and was buried;

Luke 16:23  And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments,

and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Many say that the book of Revelation, in spite of its name, is symbolic.

There are some symbols, however,

there is nothing symbolic about the following verses.

First:

The entire New Testament is primarily written to the true Church of Jesus Christ,

as is the entire book of Revelation.

Secondly:

Much of Christ’s ministry was addressed to those who considered

themselves servants of God.

It was these same servants, who orchestrated His torture and cruel murder.

Third:

Christ clearly tells the seven churches in Revelation chapters 2 and 3,

that He knows their works, and we can see that He knows the condition

of the hearts of the members.

It is not simply a matter of what pours forth from their mouths.

Fourth:

Christ tells us that these people whom He is addressing are neither

hot nor cold. In case we miss the point, He repeats it and tells us

that they are lukewarm.

Revelation 3:15  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot:

I would thou wert cold or hot.

Fifth:

Christ says that He will vomit them out of His mouth,

because they are offensive to Him.

Revelation 3:16  So then because thou art lukewarm,

and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Sixth:

Christ exposes what these people think about themselves.

They consider themselves,

Rich,

Increased with goods,

Having need of nothing.

Revelation 3:17  Because thou sayest, I am rich,

and increased with goods, and have need of nothing;

Seventh:

Christ exposes their true condition,

of which they did not have the slightest clue.

So many people want to teach me what to do,

when their lives are in total confusion.

Some even give me advice on how I should run the website.

Others state that the website is ‘myopic’.

Some say I should stand on a street corner giving out ‘tracts’.

The fact that countless hundreds of thousands,

across the entire world, access my material, seems to have

bypassed their attention.

They would be far better sorting out the mess in their own lives.

Revelation 3:17

and knowest not that thou art

wretched, and

miserable, and

poor, and

blind, and

naked:

According to this verse unless you have a ‘white garment’,

you will be stark naked.

It is clear that the riches of these people, mentioned above,

is utterly valueless, and counts for nothing.

Christ regards them as being naked.

He then advises them to buy gold from Him, and this gold,

will result in the shame of their nakedness being covered.

In order to do as we are instructed, we must first of all carry

out the instructions at the end of the verse.

It tells us that the bottom line is blindness.

Unless the blindness is removed, it is quite impossible to see

the true condition, regardless of how much praying, fasting,

and tithing is done.

Prayers can be absolutely in vain.

There are many verses, which explain this.

Proverbs 1:28  Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer;

they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

Right now I have people, who are literally dying,

and they refuse to do basic simple things, for their own good,

which even a non-Christian would advise.

Such is the rebellion in the human heart,

which is deceitful above all things.

Jeremiah 17:9  The heart is deceitful above all things,

and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Blindness requires a miracle of the Eternal God for it to be healed.

Neither study nor prayer meetings nor anything else will do this.

That is what this verse is saying.

As with most things, the very first thing that needs to be done,

is to humble ourselves, and admit that there is a problem.

Many do not even get past this first hurdle,

but they have to do so in order to buy the white raiment,

which is required.

Revelation 3:18  I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire,

that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment,

that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness

do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve,

that thou mayest see.

So what is this white raiment?

It is the righteousness of the saints.

This is not self-righteousness, which I encounter every day,

but the righteousness of Christ.

The righteousness of Christ will only reside in a repentant,

and obedient believer,

as the righteousness of Christ, is Christ Himself.

Revelation 19:8  And to her was granted that she should be arrayed

in fine linen, clean and white:

for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

We can say all the words that we desire,

and do whatsoever we like.

Note that this gold is tried in the fire.

There is a cost, which includes, pain, suffering, and fiery experiences.

We are told to buy of Christ, true riches and righteousness from Him,

otherwise, we are not going to make it into

His Kingdom, whatever we might think.

Revelation 19:8  And to her was granted that she should be arrayed

in fine linen, clean and white:

for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Long ago I stated in a document that most of us are walking around

like the Emperor in the story of ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’.

Those who were near to the Emperor, and whom he trusted,

deceived him into believing that He was wearing

the most beautiful garments, when He was stark naked.

It took a little child to blurt out the truth.

Today we are in a world where people trust people,

whom they do not even know, and whom they have never met.

They do not know if those they are trusting are

even real people or not.

It is referred to as a virtual, computer internet, world.

Many people live in a virtual world, even getting married.

One couple starved their real child whilst they fed their virtual children.

That gives some idea of how messed up we are in reality.

No one is going to sneak into the Wedding Feast,

without a garment of righteousness.

It will never happen.

This is the position today.

The Wedding Feast is just about ready,

but will you be there?

Matthew 22:8  Then saith he to his servants,

The wedding is ready,

but they which were bidden were not worthy.

Matthew 22:9  Go ye therefore into the highways,

and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

Matthew 22:10  So those servants went out into the highways,

and gathered together all as many as they found,

both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

The king came to see the guests, in all their finery.

I do not believe that the guests saw anything wrong with the man,

whom the king approached, he most likely looked the same

as everyone else, but this was no ordinary king.

This was Christ the king, and He could see past the fabric garments,

and He did not see a garment of righteousness,

therefore the man was thrown out.

Matthew 22:11  And when the king came in to see the guests,

he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

Matthew 22:12  And he saith unto him, Friend,

how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment?

And he was speechless.

Matthew 22:13  Then said the king to the servants,

Bind him hand and foot, and take him away,

and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

As I asked are you naked?

Will you be thrown out of the Wedding Feast ?

What are you going to do about it before it is too late?
