      EASTER - Amended  & Updated 2012

                By Peter James from:

As I write this everyone is getting ready to acknowledge the Crucifixion

of Christ on ‘Good Friday’, and then the resurrection

of Christ on Easter Sunday.

The reality is that Easter, is a pagan festival, which has nothing whatsoever to do with Christ.

We will prove that Christ was not crucified on a Friday, and that additionally He was not resurrected on a Sunday morning.

Let us look at a prophecy in Daniel.

Daniel 9:26  And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah

be cut off, but not for himself:

and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city

and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood,

and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Daniel 9:27  And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:

and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation

to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make

it desolate, even until the consummation,

and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

We are told that

in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice

and the oblation to cease”

This is used by scholars to say that Christ would die in the middle

of the week.

Daniel 12:11-12 also uses this same principle of a day for a year.

We can see two verses which establish this principle.

Numbers 14:34  After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.

Ezekiel 4:6  And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days:

I have appointed thee each day for a year.

Christ’s ministry lasted three and a half years, and He became

the perfect sacrifice which meant that there was no longer any

need for animal sacrifices.

The following table shows that according to Daniel’s prophecy,

the Messiah would be murdered in the middle of the week.

It uses the principle of defining days as mentioned in Genesis chapter 1.

the day is comprised of the evening and the morning, or as we would say

today, night and day.

In Genesis we read the definition of the day as stated by the Eternal God.

The night of the day preceded the day.

Genesis 1:5  And God called the light Day,

and the darkness he called Night.

And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Christ then confirmed the length of a day.

John 11:9  Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day?

If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not,

because he seeth the light of this world.

Of course to cause utter confusion Satan has organized that the day

precedes the night.

The fact is that we are now in a period of night,

and this will be followed by a period of day.

Originally the days were numbered, they did not have the pagan

names, which we use today.

Day 1    Saturday        PM    to     Sunday     PM       24 hours

Day 2        Sunday          PM    to     Monday    PM     24 hours

Day 3        Monday         PM   to     Tuesday    PM     24 hours

Day 4    Tuesday        PM   to     Wednesday PM     24 hours

Day 5    Wednesday  PM   to        Thursday    PM     24 hours

Day 6    Thursday       PM   to        Friday       PM     24 hours

Day 7        Friday            PM   to       Saturday   PM     24 hours

also known as the weekly Sabbath.

We can clearly see that Day 4 is the middle of the week.

The daylight part of Day 4 we call Wednesday.

There is a second, and much easier to understand proof

in the New Testament.

We can see that Christ was crucified before a Sabbath.

Most then wilfully choose to ignore, or assume that the crucifixion had therefore to take place on the day before the weekly Sabbath.

The fact is that there are weekly Sabbaths, and annual Sabbaths,

which also referred to as Feasts, Holy Convocations, or High days.

Leviticus 23:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Leviticus 23:2  Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them,

Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy

convocations, even these are my feasts.

Leviticus 23:3  Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the

sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein:

it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

Leviticus 23:4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy

convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

Leviticus 23:5  In the fourteenth day of the first month at even

is the LORD’S passover.

Leviticus 23:6  And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast

of unleavened bread unto the LORD:

seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

Leviticus 23:7  In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

Let us now look at the Gospel of John, and the time of Christ’s crucifixion.

John clearly states that the day that Christ was being crucified was not the

preparation day for the weekly Sabbath,

but rather the preparation day for the Passover.

John 19:14  And it was the preparation of the passover,

and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

Prophecies were being full filled.

The perfect, spotless Passover Lamb was being slain,

on the correct day at the correct time, for my sins, your sins,

and the sins of all mankind.

John 19:13  When Pilate therefore heard that saying,

he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that

is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.

John 19:14  And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the

sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

John 19:15  But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him.

Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King?

The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

John 19:16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified.

And they took Jesus, and led him away.

John 19:17  And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called

the place of a skull, which is

called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

John 19:18  Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in

the midst.

John 19:19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross.

And the writing was,

JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Once again the apostle John emphasizes that the Sabbath was

not a weekly Sabbath, but a high day, an annual Sabbath.

John 19:31  The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation,

that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day,

(for that sabbath day was an high day,)

besought Pilate that their legs might be broken,

and that they might be taken away.

This is not a small matter, but rather a matter of crucial importance.

Christ said that the only sign of whom he was, rested on the fact,

that he would remain in the grave for precisely three days and three

nights. That is a total of 72 hours, not one and a half, or two and a half,

or any other compilation, but three complete days.

Now the approach of a Sabbath day, had its own problems for the Jews.

They were quite happy to murder, our perfectly innocent Lord

and Saviour, but they did not want to disqualify themselves from breaking

“the law”, and being unable to participate in eating the Passover.

It is so hypocritical.

But we do exactly the same today.

Today we go to war, and kill people, who have done us absolutely nothing.

Our greed and covetousness drives our actions, as the apostle James says.

James 4:2  Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have,

and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

We kill not only our ‘enemies’, but we also kill ourselves,

and our children in the process.

We do not care whom we kill as long as we achieve our evil desires.

Are you aware that most of the soldiers, and equipment in the Iraq theatre

of war are contaminated, with radio activity because of depleted uranium?

This is happening in one country after another.

To be in the presence of, or to touch, these people or equipment,

is to be contaminated.

What is to happen to these soldiers and equipment?

Back to the crucifixion, where we can see the frantic activity to put the

body of Christ into a tomb before sunset.

John 29:42 says because of the Jews’ preparation day.

I do not believe, that had they not managed to complete putting the body

of Christ in the tomb, before sunset, that they would have broken any law

at all, however, the legalistic rulers might well have tried to have the

distressed disciples killed also.

John 19:38  And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple

of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might

take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave.

He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

John 19:39  And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came

to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes,

about an hundred pound weight.

John 19:40  Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen

clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

John 19:41  Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden;

and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

John 19:42  There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’

preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.

This preparation day was a Wednesday.

If we look at Mark’s gospel we will see further frantic activity,

due to the on rushing Sabbath.

The distraught lovers of Christ, wanted to do the best for their beloved

Christ, in the limited time available to them.

Mark 15:46  And he bought fine linen, and took him down,

and wrapped him in the linen,

and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock,

and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.

Mark 15:47  And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses

beheld where he was laid.

Suddenly everything stopped.

1- Thursday was the Sabbath of the Passover.

2- Friday, the next day, was an ordinary working day.

During daylight hours the women went and bought spices to anoint

the body of Christ.

They would have to carry the heavy spices home.

They did not just run to the supermarket, and buy some spices.

In any case we could not go to a supermarket, and buy that amount

of spices today.

From John Chapter 19 we see Nicodemus with 100 pounds weight

of spices.

John 19:39 And there came also Nicodemus,

which at the first came to Jesus by night,

and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes,

about an hundred pound weight.

So Christ is put in the tomb on Wednesday evening,

The apostle Luke wrote the sequence of events in order.

We will find that the gospel of Luke is in sequence,

as is the book of Acts, whereas the other gospels are not

in the sequence of the events.

Luke 1:1  Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order

a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,

Luke 1:2  Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning

were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;

Luke 1:3  It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding

of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order,

most excellent Theophilus,

Luke 1:4  That thou mightest know the certainty of those things,

wherein thou hast been instructed.

It is very easy to overlook the fact, that Luke tells us,

that the women, who were present at the crucifixion,

went and looked into the tomb, and saw how the body of Christ

was laid in the tomb immediately after He has been laid to rest.

Luke 23:54  And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.

Luke 23:55  And the women also, which came with him from Galilee,

followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.

From Wednesday evening to Thursday evening we have the Sabbath of

the Passover.

We have the first day of three days.

From Thursday evening to Friday evening is a normal day and Christ’s

body remains in the tomb,

the women prepare to do the embalming of the body.

Some of the women went and bought spices to anoint the body of Christ.

They would have to transport them, mix and prepare them.

There were no cars, and modern transport.

No sooner than they had done everything, they had once again run out

of time.

We have the second day of three days.

How could that be that they had run out of time?

3- Because once again the weekly Sabbath was quickly coming.

But I thought we just had a Sabbath.

Yes, we did, but this final Sabbath, was the weekly Sabbath.

The first Sabbath was an annual Sabbath.

Christ’s body remains in the tomb for the whole weekly Sabbath.

That is from Friday evening to Saturday evening.

We have the third day of three days.

Immediately after the Sabbath this is what happens.

John 20:1  The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark,

unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

John 20:2  Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them,

They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre,

and we know not where they have laid him.

Luke 24:1  Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning,

they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

Luke 24:2  And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

Luke 24:3  And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

Luke 24: 4  And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

Luke 24: 5  And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

Luke 24: 6  He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

Luke 24: 7  Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

The apostle John explains:

Mary then sees Jesus, but does not recognise him.

He might well have looked differently, but what is certain is,

that it was dark, and there was no electric flood lighting.

It is not surprising that she could not recognise Him.

John 20:14  And when she had thus said, she turned herself back,

and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

John 20:15  Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou?

whom seekest thou?

She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir,

if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

John 20:16  Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

So we have seen Christ was in the tomb,

Wednesday Evening   to   Thursday Evening      Day 1

Thursday      Evening   to   Friday    Evening        Day 2

Friday           Evening   to   Saturday Evening.      Day 3

He therefore fulfilled the prophecy which He made about Himself.

Matthew 12:39  But he answered and said unto them,

 An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign;

and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

Matthew 12:40  For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the

whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights

in the heart of the earth.

Once again we see the duration of Christ’s time in the grave clearly

defined.

You see, the simple fact is that if the resurrection did not take place

precisely as stated, then the person purporting to be Christ was

an imposter, and we would not  have a Saviour.

The word Easter does appear in the bible once, in Acts 12:4.

I do not understand, why it appears there at all.

Here is the reason for my comment.

Acts 12:3 tells us that these were the ‘Days of Unleavened Bread’,

which has nothing to do with Easter.

In 2008 there is one months difference between the Eternal’s Passover

and Pagan Easter.

We are told that Herod was pleasing the Jews in Acts 12:3.

We are told that it was the days of Unleavened Bread.

We are told in Acts 12:2.Herod was killing the Christians,

James and John, to name but two.

He would not care about ‘polluting’ Easter, if it were ‘Christian’,

as Easter is mentioned in Acts 12:4.

In fact I believe he would have greatly pleased the Jews to pollute

what is purported to be a Christian Holy Day, which it is not,

but he did not do that.

To please the Jews he would not want to desecrate the ‘Passover Feast’,

as this would greatly antagonize the Jews.

Acts 12:1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands

to vex certain of the church.

Acts 12:2  And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

Acts 12:3  And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded

further to take Peter also.

(Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

Acts 12:4  And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison,

and delivered him to four quaternions

of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth

to the people.

The word  “pasca”, appears in the bible 27 times.

Twenty six of twenty seven times ‘pasca’ is translated ‘Passover’,

and once it is translated ‘Easter’.

It is my contention from the context that the missing once,

should also be translated ‘Passover’, and not ‘Easter’.

Therefore the word Easter should not appear in the bible at all.

Additionally you will not find the word ‘Christmas’, in the bible.

Easter is the most important day in the Roman Catholic Calendar,

and Catholics are urged to attend Confession.

It is the Roman Catholics, who sit in Satan’s seat,

who ultimately determine when Easter will be celebrated.

See our document: The Abomination Of The Confession

To see some of the details of the pagan origin of Easter,

read David Meyers article here. The Pagan origin or Easter.

Jeremiah 10:2  Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen,

and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

We have shown that the crucifixion was not on Friday,

and neither was the resurrection at Sunday sunrise.

The only remaining question, is that now that you know the truth,

about Easter, what are you going to do about it?

What will you chose ?

Will you decide to remain in Babylon or to come out of Babylon?

You have a decision to make.

Be Humble      Repent      Listen To The Eternal God     Obey Him.

This is very easy to say, but I assure you that it is physically an impossibility without the empowerment of the Eternal God.

Just going up to some altar call, running to some church, or isolating yourself in the hope that somehow it will all go away, will not do it.

What are you going to do about it before it is too late?
