                   Christ Is The Holy Spirit

                        The Holy Spirit Is God.

The Holy Spirit Is Not A Power.

                By Peter James from:

God is Holy

          Psalms 99:9  Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill;

for the LORD our God is holy.

          God is a Spirit.

John 4:24  God is a Spirit:

and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

It would be quite accurate to say that The Eternal God is Holy Spirit.

It takes spirit to communicate with Spirit.

In order to bridge the gap, we have a mediator Jesus Christ, who is both God and man. Many of unsound mind, claim that they are also a mediator between God and man. This is heresy, whether this is claimed by an individual or a group, it is sin.

The Roman Catholic Church claims,

that Mary is a mediatrix (mediator) with Christ.

This is blasphemy.

This verse tells us that Christ and the Father are literally one and the same.

Isaiah 9:6  For unto us a child (Christ) is born, unto us a son (Christ)

is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder:

and his name shall be called

(These are some of the names of Christ.)

The mighty God,

The everlasting Father,

The Prince of Peace.

Man is a composite being.

He has a ‘spirit in man’.

He has a ‘physical body’.

He has Christ as the Holy Spirit, dwelling In Him, if he is converted.

When you look at a man, you do not see three people.

You see a single entity.

Man was made in the image of God.

Genesis 1:27  So God created man in his own image, in the image

of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Therefore the Eternal God is also a composite being,

but there is no Trinity, just the One God.

We can regard Jesus Christ, as the human body, the garment,

in which the Father chose to dwell.

The spirit in man for Jesus Christ, was the very first thing,

             which the Father created.

It is critical to understand, that once the spirit of a man has been created,

this spirit can be clothed, with a human body, at absolutely any time.

Man tends to be focused on the physical, but the really important,

and primary thing ,is the spirit in man, which does not age nor deteriorate.

Revelation 3:14  And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, (Christ) the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

t is in the spirit of man, that the Holy Spirit dwells.

In Christ’s situation, there was no limit of the Holy Spirit in His spirit.

It was complete. Christ was the literal image of the Eternal God.

Colossians 1:15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Colossians 1:19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

Here we see the whole scenario explained, that the human spirit

of Christ was not only the very first thing, which the Eternal Father,

had made, but the entire creation, was then made by Christ,

absolutely all of it.

Colossians 1:16  For by him (Christ) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones,

or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him,

and for him:

Christ had been imbued with the limitless power of the Eternal God,

therefore, He not only created all things, but He also holds the entire

creation all together by the power of His word.

Hebrews 1:3  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Once again we are told that He was before all things.

Colossians 1:17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist

That He is before all things is repeated here.

Colossians 1:18  And he is the head of the body, the church:

who is the beginning,

the firstborn from the dead;

that in all things he might have the preeminence.

For those, who object, and say what about Lazarus, and the daughter

of Jairus, who was raised from the dead?

Here is something to consider, in simple human terms.

When someone dies, the spirit of the person leaves the human body.

If such a person has lived for their allotted time,

a marker is put on the spirit of the person, to show that this is the case.

This is what would have happened to Christ.

When Christ Was crucified, His spirit then went to Paradise, also called Abraham’s Bosom. It is the same place that the thief on the cross went

on that very day.

Luke 23:43  And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

It is not in heaven.

It is in the depths of the earth adjoining hell.

As man is of the earth, he is restricted to the earth,

whether dead or alive.

1 Corinthians 15:47  The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

1 Corinthians 15:48  As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy:

and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

No human being has been to heaven except, Jesus Christ.

See: Abraham’s Bosom – A Place Of Comfort For The Just - New

The spirit of a wicked person, like the rich man, in the report about  Lazarus and the rich man, would immediately go to hell.

When a person has not actually reached their allotted days,

their spirit will show this. In the case of Lazarus, and the daughter of Jairus, to mention just two instances, their spirit will clearly show,

that they still had some more life to live. In both of these cases, the reason was that they were being used to show the power of God,

by resurrecting them.

Their spirits would be marked to show that their physical life,

was incomplete. It is most likely, that the time when their spirit was taken

from the body, they could be in Paradise, Abraham’s Bosom,

until their spirit, returns into its host body.

There is a much greater event, when this latter point will again take

place. I have explained that the Manchild Bride of  Christ,

will be caught up to the throne, for the marriage of the bride.

Note the word Manchild, is used to denote the stronger part of the true

church, however the church is almost everywhere referred to as female.

It is the human spirits, of the bride of Christ, which are caught up to the throne. Their human bodies, cannot be in the presence of the Father.

Additionally they are not dead, because they will return to earth to work,

during the great tribulation. It is most likely that the human spirit,

will be used to replace the sick, and tired, human bodies, with fit and well human bodies after their visit to the marriage feast in heaven.

This is not a resurrection in any sense of the word,

but rather a transformation and empowerment, in order for the bride of Christ to operate, during the Great Tribulation, with the two witnesses.

Here we see the interchange between the Father and Christ.

It is an absolute partnership. It is the only way it can be, because they are one and the same, there is only one God.

Colossians 1:12  Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet

to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Colossians 1:13  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness,

and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Colossians 1:14  In whom we have redemption through his blood,

even the forgiveness of sins:

Colossians 1:20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross,

by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

This is what Christ said, whilst He was a man on the earth.

He was praying to the Father in heaven, who was all Spirit,

that He would send them a comforter, which was eternal, to be with them forever. This immediately tells us that the Comforter was God

John 14: 16  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another

Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

He then tells us that this Comforter is ‘The Spirit of Truth’.

Christ also said that He was the Truth.

John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:

no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Christ then made, and clarified several additional points.

1. Christ said that the world neither sees nor knows the Spirit of Truth,

therefore the world cannot receive him.

2. Christ then told the disciples, that they knew the Spirit of Truth.

3. Christ then told them, that the Spirit of Truth was at that very time

dwelling with them. Of course this was the case, as He was dwelling with them.

4.  Christ then said that the Spirit of Truth would soon be dwelling in them. This could never happen, whilst Christ was a human being on the earth. He first had to ascend into heaven, where He would not be limited

to the restraints of a human body, which could only be in one place at a time, but as Spirit, He could be in as many people as He desired, even

billions of people.

John 14:17  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive,

because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he

dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

5. Having told the disciples that He would not leave them comfortless,

He then explained, that in order not to leave them comfortless,

He would come into them.

They would never understand that until they experienced it at the first

John 14:18  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Christ could see that the Holy Spirit, would be a huge stumbling block.

He said that sins against the Holy Ghost, which means exactly the same thing, as the Holy Spirit, will not be forgiven. I prefer the words ‘Holy Spirit’, due to the negative connotations of the word ‘Ghost’.

The Holy Spirit, has no human element, therefore there is no contamination from the flesh whatsoever.

I believe that is why, sins are unpardonable, when you blame the

Holy Spirit, which is the Eternal God, for things, which He has not done.

Alternatively you can deny His existence, and bluntly refuse to repent,

after you have been given the opportunities to do so.

This will be a point of no return for those in rebellion.

Matthew 12:31  Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Matthew 12:32  And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man,

it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

If the Holy Spirit is just a power, I do not believe that such a statement

would be made, but the Holy Spirit is purely God without any human interface.

We should therefore be very careful, how we regard the Holy Spirit/Ghost

and what we ascribe to Him.

I would worry a great deal, if I said that, the Eternal God acts as some of the lowest  of the creatures, which He created, or any similar thing.

To claim that barking like a dog is of the Holy Spirit,

does not by any stretch of the imagination,

glorify the Eternal God, but it rather debases Him.

I cannot stress too much how careful we need to be.

If someone is a genuine servant, of The Eternal God, and the genuine servant of the Most High God, is then accused of serving Satan,

rather than the Lord, I see this as a very serious problem.

Of course we should not get into this position because we should

carefully consider the fruit, and seek guidance on the matter,

rather than pouring forth accusation based on emotion.

There are countless aspects of the Eternal God,

but that does not make God multiple personalities.

God is our Father.

God is Holy.

God is Righteous.

God is Saviour.

God is Creator.

God is Law Giver

God is the Giver of life.

God is Perfect.

God is Peace.

God is all Powerful.

God is all Knowing.

God is omnipotent.

God is our Healer.

etc., etc.

But He is still just one God.

My children know me as father.

My work colleagues knew me as someone, who worked with computers.

Others knew me as someone who conducted choirs.

Others knew me as a gardener.

  etc. etc.

The various groups, might not have known anything at all about my other

activities, but at the end of the day, I was just one person.

My children, and close family, would know the different aspects

of the person who is me.

In my experience, almost all of the churches which I have encountered,

have regarded the Holy Spirit, as a Power.

This teaching is not in the bible.

As I have just stated the Eternal God is all powerful.

The power of God is an attribute of the Lord.

It is not something separate from Him.

It is true that as the apostle Paul said we only see through a glass darkly.

1 Corinthians 13:12  For now we see through a glass, darkly;

but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also

I am known.

So we can be assured, that regarding the Eternal God our ideas, and our understanding will be very limited. However, this does not mean that we have to create our own reality, because of our limited knowledge.

There is no shame in acknowledging that we do not know.

The bible clearly states that there is one God, and it means what it says.

Jesus said, and he should know.

This is not one in the sense of being of one mind, one opinion,

one  objective, or any such thing.

Mark 12:29  And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

The Apostle James said, it is good that you believe in God, but that is not such a big deal, as even the devils believe.

They also know it from their experience.

James 2:19  Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well:

the devils also believe, and tremble.

When they were going to stone the Deacon Stephen,

what did he see when the heavens opened?

Acts 7:55  But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing

on the right hand of God,

Acts 7:56  And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

Here there is no direct mention of the Holy Spirit occupying a separate place  in the heavens.

Analogies  always quickly break down, but here is one anyway.

Let us say that God is a massive block of magnetized steel.

Any piece of iron, coming into contact with this steel,

will automatically be magnetised.

It is inevitable.

The piece of iron does not become the magnetized steel,

but it has been changed dramatically. I believe that under normal circumstances it will not lose its magnetism.

It has the same qualities, of the block of steel, but it might only be able to lift things like pins and needles, as opposed to objects of several tons.

What is certain is that they are of the same type, that is they are magnets.

We will be of the same type as God, as we become His children,

but the gulf between Him and us, will not only always be gigantic,

but also completely unbridgeable.

Those who teach that we will become God, as God is simply nonsense.

You cannot take away the quality of magnetism and still have a block

of steel with the same qualities.

Neither can you take away any of the attributes of the Eternal God,

and still have ‘God’.

God by definition is all powerful, but you cannot separate His power from Him, and still have God.

The idea that you go to a meeting, and you effectively ‘pray down the

power of God’, is quite false.

Just like the small piece of iron you are either magnetised or you are not.

You either have the Holy Spirit or you do not.

Of course it is possible for the Eternal God to pour out more of His Spirit

on a person as He chooses, for whatever reason.

It is not a matter of going to a meeting, and somehow becoming

‘slain in the spirit’, ‘Speaking in Tongues’, and all these sorts counterfeit activities, which purport to be ‘Holy Spirit activity,

which are no such thing.

To speak in tongues, is to speak in genuine languages,

which can be interpreted, as stated in Acts Chapter 2.

Document: Speaking In Tongues

What was the power that was in action in Genesis chapter 1?

Was it just the power of God, floating around doing this that and the other?

This is what we are told.

God said.

The Hebrew word for God is ‘Elohiym’.

It is referred to as a uni-plural word, that is a word,

that means more than one.

Therefore some say that God is a family, others say that God is a Trinity.

Our finite minds can have a very hard time, wrapping itself,

around these profound spiritual concepts.

We know, that this Creator God is Christ, the verses are quoted after a few paragraphs below.

Christ  had taken on a human body, to perform the creation,

however, the Holy Spirit was in Him, without measure.

We are speaking about the Eternal God.

It is quite understandable that  He said ‘Let Us’.

It most certainly does not mean, that there was a Trinity involved,

or angels, or anyone else.

Christ could project the Holy Spirit, as He wished.

In a similar but minute way, I can project my voice, by speaking.

My voice is not another person.

My voice is not a power.

A strong singer, can sing a very high note so powerfully,

that it would shatter a glass some distance away.

Christ could do the very same thing, in a spiritual sense.

He could project His Spirit, in any way, which He desired.

The entire chapter one of Genesis,

tells us that the re-creation was spoken into existence.

Genesis 1:3  And God said,

Genesis 1:6   And God said,

Genesis 1:9  And God said,

Genesis 1:11  And God said,

Genesis 1:14  And God said,

Genesis 1:20  And God said,

Genesis 1:24   And God said,

Genesis 1:26  And God said,

Genesis 1:26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

It has been my understanding for a long time,

that many things happened in Eternity, and subsequently, they were

brought into time and space, at the appropriate time.

This is the bottom line.

All the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Hebrews 4:3  For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said,

As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although

the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Zechariah 12:1  The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel,

saith the LORD,

1. which stretcheth forth the heavens, and

2. layeth the foundation of the earth, and

3. formeth the spirit of man within him.

Hebrews 1:10  And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

Revelation 13:8  And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Hebrews 1:10  And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

Revelation 17:8  The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Ephesians 1:4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before

him in love:

Matthew 25:34  Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

We are told that Christ the Creator spoke, and it was the power of His word, which brought everything into existence,

but you cannot separate the power, from the person.

Psalms 33:6  By the word of the LORD were the heavens made;

and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

Genesis 1:1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 1:2  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Genesis 1:3  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

These three verses are all referring to exactly the same God.

Verse 1 tells us that in the very beginning long before the recreation with Adam and Eve, God created the heaven and the earth.

We know that this is Christ from John chapter 1.

John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word (the one who spoke the word)was God.

John 1: 2  The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1: 3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Jeremiah 10:12  He hath made the earth by his power,

he hath established the world by his wisdom,

and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

This same God, Jesus Christ  is mentioned in the following verses,

giving many of His titles including,

The Everlasting Father,

The Almighty God.

Isaiah 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father,

The Prince of Peace.

Verse 2 tells us that at a much later time, when the original perfect creation had resulted in a world that was waste and empty and confusion, God as the Holy Spirit moved over the waters.

Note verses 2 and 3 are full of conjunctions ‘and’, the translators choose to put full stops before each ‘and’, but in reality it is one continuous thought leading

to a conclusion. ‘And’ is also used to show emphasis.

The Spirit of God and God are one and the same.

It could quite easily have said, and the Spirit of God said.

The first verses of Genesis are dealing with a re-creation.

Therefore Adam and Eve were told to replenish, that is fill the earth again,

so it must have been filled by some sort of life before.

Genesis 1:28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

The power was in the spoken word of God, who said ‘Light Be’,

and there was light.

We then see a whole list of the activities of God.

God saw

God called

God said

God made

God created.

The word most used is God  said’.

As a power ,you would never assign speech to the Spirit of God,

but the reality, is that the Spirit of God, or the Holy Spirit does communicate with our spirit.

John 4:24  God is a Spirit:

and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

It would be quite accurate to say that The Eternal God is Holy Spirit.

Anywhere you see God said, you can be assured that whatever is said, is said with power, and it will come to pass. Also, if the Eternal God tells someone to say something, that will also come to pass.

The power is in the spoken word.

Job said that he was made by the Spirit of God.

Job 33:4  The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

It is very clear that:

The Holy Spirit Is God, and

The Holy Spirit Is Not A Power.
