The
Holy Bible Is The Immutable Living Word Of The Eternal God.
The Only Bible we Recommend Is
The King James / A.V. Bible.
Here's the
reason, shocking but enlightening truth: The
Bible Is Used To Deceive
Leviticus 26:17
And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before
your enemies:
they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.
Ezekiel 20:26 ……
that I might make them desolate, to the
end that they might know that I am the LORD.
A Message From Peter James
Depression Update
Recently I have been astounded by the number of people
who are plagued by depression.
The key factors mentioned are that many people feel
unloved, useless and failures.
I found this on my recent trip to St Kitts in the West
Indies, in the UK,
and from communications from Europe.
What is happening to us?
First
of all we are all living our lives full of stress and fear.
If
we read Newspapers and watch Tel-lie-vision it only aggravates our situation,
as
we try to live up not only to our friends, but also to the make believe lives
of
the TV personalities, and other celebrities.
We
can believe that the image that others portray to us is how they are in
reality.
In
many cases, the reality is that the images are all a facade of lives
that
are just as empty, and pointless as those of their peers.
We
can make that statement because, for most the Eternal God plays no part in
their lives.
Therefore
by definition their lives will be empty.
We
can go further and state that according to scripture, most have unsound minds.
2
Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of
fear; but of power, and of love,
and of a sound mind.
When you add to this the true condition as stated in Jeremiah,
we can see the size of the problem.
Jeremiah
9:4 Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any
brother:
for every brother will utterly
supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.
5And they
will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth:
they have taught their tongue to
speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.
6Thine habitation is in the
midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me,
saith the LORD.
When you take these conditions mentioned in Timothy and Jeremiah,
and add the constant fear factor,
is it any wonder that we are stressed
out and depressed?
We
can easily feel inadequate, and that life is not worth living.
This
not only affects adults but it also affects mere children.
I
wonder if those contemplating suicide ever consider what happens to them when
they die?
It
is most unlikely, as those who are well rarely consider it,
unless
something sudden and tragic happens.
It
is certainly not an option in very many ways, as the spirit in man lives on.
See:
The
Spirit In Man
We need to stop worrying about
situations which are outside of our control.
It does
not alter the circumstances in any way, but it certainly stresses us out,
and
it can make us sick and depressed.
As a
teenager I used to say ‘Why
worry when you can pray?’
This
is just as true today as it was all those years ago.
The Eternal
God is right there to deal with the things that really matter,
and with which you cannot cope.
Change
the things that you can change with a little self discipline and self control.
For
example, you cannot control the quality of the programs on the Tel-Lie-Vision,
but you can
certainly
control what you watch if you indulge in watching anything at all.
Seeking
what we call Rhema, or direct guidance from God is critical in this situation.
Having
received the guidance, then you must obey it.
When
you are told to rest, you had better rest, regardless of how important you
might feel
there
are urgent jobs to be done.
When
you obey, the seemingly impossible things will be resolved, and often not in
the way
you
would imagine.
Most
are caught on the treadmill of never ending work.
Often
inadequate sleep, and poor eating habits take its toll as we desperately
work simply to survive.
This
situation of enforced labour is exactly mirrored by the latter years of Israel
in
Egypt after Joseph had died.
Exodus 1:11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with
their burdens.
And they built for Pharaoh
treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.
12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied
and grew.
And they were grieved because of the children of
Israel.
13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:
14 And they made their lives bitter with hard
bondage, in morter,
and in brick,
and in all manner of service in the field: all their service,
wherein they made them serve, was
with rigour.
Some time later when Moses asked
for them to be set free to worship God, things got worse.
Exodus
5:6 And Pharaoh
commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people,
and their officers, saying,
7 Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore:
let them go and gather straw for
themselves.
8 And the tale of the bricks, which
they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them;
ye shall not diminish ought
thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying,
Let us go and sacrifice to our God.
According to The Book
Of Jasher, (click on it to download the entire book)
if they did not meet the tally of
bricks that should have
been their young babies were cemented
into the spaces of the missing bricks.
Chapter 77:15 And
the task-masters of Egypt did so in those days as Pharaoh
had ordered them.
16 And whenever any deficiency was
found in the children of Israel's measure
of their daily bricks, the task-masters of Pharaoh would go
to the wives of the children
of Israel and take infants of the children
of Israel to the number of bricks deficient,
they would take them by force from their
mother's laps,
and put them in the building instead of the
bricks;
What has this to do with depression?
It has everything to do with
depression.
It is the very same Satan who had
been behind all this that is behind the work until you drop
mentality that is being promoted
by his evil destructive system.
Work has become much more than a
job.
It is a curse.
You work, and still find it hard
to make ends meet even if you are thrifty.
Can you begin to see that stress
and depression are really spiritual problems.
We have identified the source behind all the confusion, because that is exactly what it is.
Satan is the author of confusion.
1 Corinthians
14:33 For God is not the author of
confusion, but of peace,
as in all
churches of the saints.
This verse says that confusion has
a source.
Similarly depression has the very same source.
The sooner that we understand that
we are battling against wicked spirits in high places,
the quicker we will be able to
respond in a better way to the attacks of our adversary.
It plainly states that ‘we wrestle’.
Whether we want to accept it or not this is the reality of our
situation.
It is for this reason that popping
pills or smoking marijuana will not help in the long term,
because we have not addressed the problem.
Unfortunately you cannot turn to
most churches as some tell you that Satan does not exist.
Others say that if he exists, he
does not attack Christians, as they are now saved.
This is probably the biggest lie that he tells.
The reality is that many
Christians are very depressed as they are pummelled into the ground
by the very Satan whom they are
told they do not need to worry about.
It is no wonder that we have been
told to tell the people to come out of the churches
as their pastors in general are
leading them astray.
It is a message you will find over
and over on this website, in Rhema and in several documents.
Revelation 18:4
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people,
that ye be not
partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
For
many people home is not a place that they look forward to returning to after
a
hard days work.
Many
have no place of solace, no refuge.
Even
if you do not work, and you are a housewife, your home can easily become a
prison.
Your
partner, and your children might tolerate you.
Often
many certainly feel of less use than the TV, Computer, or MP3 player.
You
can be married and have children and find that you are utterly lonely.
You can feel that your partner is not the person you married.
Some
run to the doctors for Prozac, others decide Marijuana will deaden their
seemingly
purposeless
existence.
Proverbs 25:11
A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
Many, many times I winch internally when I hear how some
Christian husbands speak
to their wives. I cannot believe
what I am hearing.
I marvel that they have not hit
them over the head with a frying pan,
or that they simply have not left
their partner.
In addition to negative thoughts our adversary uses people to depress
us.
We
need to understand that we have an adversary, Satan, whose sole desire is to
kill us.
His
C.V. clearly states that he is a liar and a murderer.
John
8:44 . . . . . He was
a murderer from the beginning, and abode not
in the truth,
because
there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own:
for he
is a liar, and the father of it.
Ask yourself these questions.
Do
you believe that the Eternal God who made you, and gives you every breath,
made
you useless and a failure?
Do
you believe that the Eternal God, who gave up his great glory, and came to the
earth
to
die for you, personally out of pure love for you, did so because, because you
are a failure?
Of
course not.
He
came and died for you because you are precious in His sight,
and He loves you dearly to the uttermost.
Ask yourself then why are you believing Satan’s lies?
You see, Satan is very good at what
he does.
He is a subtle seducer.
Satan is subtle.
This
is the predominant quality that is mentioned when he is introduced to us in
Genesis.
Genesis
3:1 Now the serpent (Satan) was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God
had made. And he said unto the
woman, Yea, hath God said,
Ye shall not eat of every tree of the
garden?
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly,
that in the latter times some shall depart
from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
What we can easily find is that our depression is part of a much bigger
spiritual battle.
Even those whom we consider to be great prophets suffered from attacks
of depression.
There was Jonah.
He was not depressed when he ran away and was swallowed up by a great
fish.
His depression came when he successfully preached to the people of
Nineveh,
and they repented. He wanted them to be zapped into the nether world.
Jonah
3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way;
and God repented of the evil, that he
had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
Jonah
3:11 ¶ But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he
was very angry.
12 And he prayed unto
the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying,
when I was yet in my country? Therefore I
fled before unto Tarshish:
for I knew that thou art a gracious
God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness,
and repentest thee of the evil.
13 Therefore
now, O LORD, take, I beseech thee, my life from me;
for it is better for
me to die than to live.
The Lord then confronted him with a
question, before showing him his folly.
Jonah 4:4 Then said the LORD,
Doest thou well to be angry?
Then there was Elijah who had done so many mighty works.
With the mighty Jezebel, who was empowered by a powerful evil spirit,
seeking his life,
he got quite fed up and said, it is enough oh that I might die.
1 Kings 19:4 But he himself
went a day’s journey into the wilderness,
and came and sat down under a
juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die;
and said, It is enough; now, O
LORD, take away my life;
for I am not better than my fathers.
Poor Elijah thought that he was alone, and
it was not worth carrying on.
This shows us how little we know of the
reality around us.
Please read the whole of 1 Kings 19.
The LORD, had him fed, then in a mighty way
passed before him, no doubt to show him
a tiny bit of His might and power.
He then told Elijah that well, you are not alone,
I have 7,000 in this city,
who have not followed Baal.
1 Kings 19: 18 Yet I have left me
seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed
unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
We can see how important it is for us to keep in close touch with the
Eternal God,
who knows exactly what is going on,
when we have not a clue.
Both of these great prophets were discouraged,
when they did not have any reason to be.
However bad your situation is, there is
always someone else who is in a much worse situation.
On my recent visit to my home I met a dear
friend who had received a heart transplant,.
some years ago.
She was grateful and thankful to God for everything,
and her situation with continuous treatment
is exceedingly difficult and painful.
When I visited her, she was telling me how
she had been greatly helped by a much older artist,
who is also a painter like herself. She
spent no time telling me about her situation.
All she said was that last year was a very
hard year and she was going to Texas for some more
treatment in a few days. All the rest of the time was spent
discussing things she wanted
to share and none of it about herself.
When you are bombarded with negative thoughts which can culminate in the
thought
to destroy yourself, you need to ask
yourself the following question.
Where did that thought come from?
If the thought is negative, you can be certain that it is not from the
Eternal God.
If you can see that it comes from your enemy Satan,
the next question is why are you
entertaining it?
You
should vocally reject it.
Bluntly refuse to accept it.
There is nothing wrong with the hearing
of Satan and his co-workers.
It might not be appropriate to give
him a loud tongue lashing at that precise moment,
then give him a soft one then, but give him none the less.
Can I speak to Satan you might ask?
You have a mouth don’t you?
In any case he is speaking to us, and
you know what we tend to listen,
rather than rebuke.
You can find it easy enough to shout at your children or your spouse whom you consider
messes up.
Instead why not vent your anger at
the real culprit for a change.
Most times you are targeting the
wrong individual.
You do not need to run to any Pastor
or any one.
We are all called to fight, not just
some of us, but all of us.
It is Christ in us who does the fighting, and who has
already won the battle.
When will we learn?
These Pastors who are telling you
that you need them to fight on your behalf
are not telling you the truth.
1 Corinthians
9:26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so
fight I,
not as one that beateth the air:
1
Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on
eternal life,
whereunto thou art also called, and
hast professed a good profession
before many witnesses.
The apostle James did not say
when you are attacked by the devil, call the pastor,
and the devil will flee away
from you, did he?
James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil,
and he will flee from you.
I would say that is a pretty clear statement.
As a believer, do you have just
a little of Christ, and a little of the Holy Spirit?
Is that how it works?
I do not think so.
You need to understand that this is all
out, no holds barred war, with no quarter given.
This is not some insignificant
intellectual mind game.
Whether you fight back or not, Satan is fighting you to the death,
therefore it is in your
best interest to fight back with all
the might which you have at your disposal,
and that is the indwelling mighty
Eternal God, as the Holy Spirit.
So what will you tell Satan?
Tell him to stay right where he is
until you finish giving him a piece of your mind.
Tell him that his fate is already sealed and he cannot get out of it.
Tell him that he is going to the lake of fire and that is a fact.
Tell him this verse where it is found.
He absolutely hates scripture,
especially when it tells of his demise.
Tell him that he has been defeated by
the blood of the Lamb.
Remind him of where he was at the very throne of God.
Remind him of where he is now on the lowly earth walking up and down
upon it.
Tell him that you are not going where
he is going.
Tell him that neither is he going where you are destined to go.
Tell him that he is a loser, he is all
washed up, done, finished.
Tell him that your house is not the
lake of fire, so what is he doing in your environment?
Tell him that you will lecture him the
next time that he turns up and interferes in your affairs.
Tell him that you wipe his face in the
blood of the Lamb
Revelation 20:10 And the
devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone,
where the beast and the false
prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night
for ever and ever.
Really mess his mind up by praising and thanking God.
You make it so uncomfortable for him that he will prefer to go to the
neighbour’s house
rather than your house.
I am very serious indeed in what I am saying.
Please do not speak to him like you
are speaking to a baby that you do not want to disturb.
Please do not tell me that what I am
telling you to say will make him angry and he will
attack you even more.
Really?
I thought that I have already stated
that his intention is to kill you !
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion,
walketh about, seeking whom he
may devour:
Vent the anger that you shout at
your children, and spouse at him.
Personally I do not shout, but I
assure you when I have to speak to him,
he knows exactly what I am
saying, no messing period.
By all means go to your doctor
and have a check up.
You might have some imbalance in
your system.
By all means go to whatever type
of analyst you care to visit, and spend your money.
However, I suggest that you
seriously
consider what you have read here.
Consider how nothing that you
have tried so far has worked,
and now you are at the end of your tether.
Consider how if God was central to
your life, if He is not, what a great difference
it would make.
Realise that if the Eternal God is
fighting for you, you automatically win.
I am not saying that it is easy nor is
it painless.
But you will be a winner and not a
loser.
People wonder how do I cope?
I am constantly telling them that I am
always asking that the Eternal God is my peace,
my wisdom, my clarity of thinking, my
patience, amongst other things.
It certainly works for me.
It is by design that our messages
finish with the following statement.
The only way out of our dilemmas is Jesus Christ.
He is the only way of escape.
Praise the Lord.
Come soon Lord
Jesus.
Amen.
