Massive New Zealand Storm Hits United States, Central America As
Supernova Fears Grow

By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Russian Subscribers

Russian Atmospheric Scientists have become increasing alarmed at the
growing number, and strangeness, of the Cosmic Blasts that are
continuing to assault our Earth and that is creating storms of
almost unprecedented magnitude.

The latest of these massive storms hit the Pacific Island nation of
New Zealand wrecking horrible damage upon those people, and as we
can read as reported by the Deutsche Presse-Agentur News Service in
their article titled "Storms black out New Zealand's biggest city",
and which says:

"New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark ordered an investigation
on "Monday after much of Auckland, the country's biggest city, was
blacked out for nearly eight hours by a winter storm that brought
down a critical power line. About 700,000 people were said to have
been directly affected by the failure which closed shops and
businesses in the city centre, made hospitals cancel all except
emergency services and caused a traffic gridlock as 300 sets of
traffic lights were knocked out.

Power was also cut to about 19,000 customers in the South Island's
Canterbury province, which was hit by the heaviest early-June
snowstorms in 50 years.

Authorities warned power would not be restored to some rural areas,
where farmers strived to rescue their animals from up to one metre
of snow, for four days. Snow collapsed verandahs over shops in the
main street of Geraldine, 130 kilometres south of Christchurch.
Geraldine and the city of Timaru, 35 kilometres further, were at a
standstill, with schools and businesses closed and residents told to
stay indoors, Radio New Zealand reported

Roofs were blown from houses and windows smashed in the capital
Wellington which was strafed by winds gusting to 130 kilometres an
hour while the main international airport in the South Island at
Christchurch was closed by snow."

So powerful is this massive storm that it is now affected the
Americas, and which are nearly a half a world away, and as we can
see evidenced by these reports:

As reported by the United States Press-Telegram News Service in
their article titled "Eight-foot waves hit Southland beaches", and
which says, "A giant winter storm in New Zealand last week is
credited with the big summer surf hitting Southern California's
south-facing beaches this week.

On Monday, the National Weather Service issued a surf advisory as
swells up to 8 feet pounded area beaches, with more big breakers
expected through Wednesday. "It's like dropping a rock in a lake and
watching the ripples extend out," said AccuWeather meteorologist Ken
Clark.

In this case, the rock was a giant South Pacific storm that spawned
60-foot waves at its center and blanketed temperate New Zealand with
snow, rain and powerful winds last week."

As reported by the Associated Press News Service in their article
titled "15-foot waves destroy homes in Nicaragua", and which
says, "Big waves generated by a storm 2,000 miles away battered
Central America's Pacific Coast on Tuesday, wrecking at least 20
houses in Nicaragua and a small hotel in Guatemala, civil defense
officials said. There were no reports of fatalities.

Authorities ordered 200 people evacuated in Nicaragua as reports of
high tides came in from Mexico and several Central American
countries. Officials said the event was not a tsunami.

Huge Cobb, a meteorologist at the National Hurricane Center in
Miami, said the waves were caused by a powerful South Pacific storm
that was sending swells up to 12-feet high across the ocean, hitting
beaches from Ecuador's Galapagos Islands to the Mexican resort of
Acapulco. Beaches were closed as far south as northern Chile, but no
damage was reported."

One of the latest of these Massive Cosmic Blasts to hit our Earth,
and as reported by the United States Swift Satellite researchers,
and named GRB ID GRB 060614A, has generated much concern, and as we
can read as reported by these researchers:

"This 102-second-long burst started off with a 6 second peak, then
had several fainter peaks of emission as it faded away. It had a
bright X-ray afterglow, and an optical afterglow was detected by
Swift as well. The Konus-Wind satellite also detected the burst,
with observations of gamma rays lasting for about 110 seconds, in
close agreement with the observations by Swift.

As time goes on, this is proving to be an unusual burst-- even for a
GRB! It was seen to brighten in the near-infrared wavelengths after
the burst, and even after nearly a day, the afterglow was dimming
only very slowly. There are some indications that the underlying
supernova explosion of the star may be dominating the light we see
now. In general, a GRB flashes and goes away, but a supernova goes
on for weeks. In this case, as has been seen only a few times
before, it looks like the supernova event may be coming to the fore.
More observations may clear this up.

And it gets weirder! Spectra taken with the Very Large Telescope in
Chile showed that the spectrum of the GRB had no emission or
absorption lines. These are features in the spectrum that are due to
either gas and dust between us and the GRB, or hot gas inside the
host galaxy, respectively. Not seeing either kind of feature is
fairly unusual, and probably means the host galaxy is faint compared
to the burst itself."

A possible source for these blasts has also been reported by
American scientists, and as we can read as reported the New
Scientist News Service in their article titled "Enigmatic object
baffles supernova team", and which says:

"An astronomical enigma has been spotted by a team hunting for very
distant supernovas for their studies of the early universe. At first
glance, the object discovered on 22 February in the constellation
Bootes resembled an ordinary supernova. But it kept growing brighter
for much too long, and its spectrum was abnormal.

The mysterious object was spotted by the Hubble Space Telescope's
Advanced Camera for Surveys and took at least 100 days to reach peak
brightness, says Kyle Dawson of the Lawrence Berkeley National
Laboratory in California, US, a member of the Supernova Cosmology
Project. Normal supernovas reach peak brightness about 20 days after
the blast.

Hubble saw nothing on 29 January at the point in the sky where the
object appeared, so it must have brightened by more than a factor of
200. It has just begun to fade. The object's spectrum is also
unusual. The researchers could find no matches when they compared it
with objects in the wide-ranging Sloan Digital Sky Survey. And its
colour has not changed since it was first observed. Normally,
temperature changes after an explosion cause colour changes.

How far away the object is, as determined by its redshift, is
uncertain. If the strongest feature in the spectrum is a pair of
calcium absorption lines, its red shift would be 0.54, corresponding
to a distance of 5.5 billion light years. But the object is at least
one magnitude brighter than a Type 1A supernova would be at that
distance, Dawson told New Scientist. And there is no sign of a host
galaxy, which should be visible.

Astronomers can only speculate on what the object is."

The significance to our Earth of this mysterious object being a Type
1A Supernova, and depending upon its distance from our World, and to
which we do not know, we can read:

"Type 1a supernovae, though, are thought to be potentially the most
dangerous if they occur close enough to the Earth. Because Type 1a
supernovae arise from dim, common white dwarf stars, it is likely
that a supernova that could affect the Earth will occur
unpredictably and take place in a star system that is not well
studied. One theory suggests that a Type 1a supernova would have to
be closer than 1000 parsecs (3300 light years) to affect the Earth."

Research done in the 1960's by Russian Scientists Genady Sergeyev
and Leonid L. Vasiliev, however, offer a more esoteric view on these
matters as in their reports was cited evidence that these Cosmic
Blasts had `embedded' within them `viral information strings'
theoretically able to be interpreted by the human brain, but only in
the ranges of 1-12 cycles per second, and which correspond to the
brains most relaxed and sleeping modes. (alpha (8 to 12 cps), theta
(5 to 7 cps), and delta (1 to 4 cps)

This research, however, did not offer any conclusions, or theories,
as to what the messages these `viral information strings' held, nor
whom, or what, would be sending them to our Earths human beings.
