Do You have an immortal Soul? 03/04/2008
Countless millions of people believe that we have an
immortal soul.
Stem cell reporters, ministers
and scientists are asking does this
clump of cells have an immortal
soul?
Roman Catholics pray for the
souls of ‘the faithful departed’, whatever
that means.
Have you ever heard of anyone condemned to hell at a funeral?
How can we get through this
maze of confusion that has earned the
Catholic church billions of
dollars/pounds over the years, all based
on the immortality of the soul?
Does the bible say that God has
a soul?
What do you believe?
What does the bible say ?
Leviticus
26:13 I am the
LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of
Egypt, that ye should not
be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and
made you go upright. . . .
. .
Leviticus
26:30
And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast
your carcases upon the
carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
The Eternal God is saying
that with His entire being he will loathe us because of our
despicable conduct.
The reality is that a soul is not something that you have,
but rather it is what you are.
We have to realise that when
Adam was made from the dust of the
ground, he was actually a dead
and lifeless body, just a corpse, no more than that.
If you have ever seen a dead
body, that is precisely how Adam looked
at the moment he had been
formed.
Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground,
. . . .
It was a separate act that moved
him from being dead to the living.
Genesis 2:7 . . . .and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man
became a living soul.
The making of Adam and
bringing him from death to life exactly mirrors our spiritual
condition prior to conversion.
No matter how wonderful we
might think that we are,
none the less we were just
the walking dead.
That is all.
Until the Eternal God
breathes Himself into us, that condition
is how we will remain,
until we return to the dust from which we have come.
A soul is the complex composite
of the created man.
A man consists first of all of
a human spirit, and secondly a physical body.
This body has to have the
breath of life imparted to it to make it a living human being.
The Eternal God, breathes into
that body, the breath of life.
There is no other source of
life in the universe.
Whether the birth is legitimate of illegitimate, the life has to come
from the Eternal God.
It does not matter whether it is physical life or Eternal Life.
Satan might well make lying
promises, but what is certain is that he cannot deliver
to fulfil his lies.
Is this breath of life just the
matter of forcing air into the lungs
of man, a sort of
resuscitation?
Definitely not.
You can force as much air into a
dead body as you like,
and that will not bring the
body back to life.
You can even circulate blood,
and do absolutely whatever you want,
man has no means of
restoring life to a corpse.
Jairus’ daughter !!!
Luke 8:49 While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the
synagogue’s house,
saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the
Master.
Luke 8:50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered
him, saying, Fear not:
believe only, and she
shall be made whole. . . . . .
Luke 8:54 And he put them all out, and took her by the
hand,
and called, saying, Maid,
arise.
Luke 8:55 And her
spirit came again, and she arose straightway:
and he commanded to give
her meat.
This tells us that the
little girl’s spirit had left her body,
but it was still in
existence, it had not gone off to purgatory.
We are then told that after
Christ told the maid to arise,
her spirit returned to her
body from whence it had come.
When the Eternal God breathed
into the man, he not only put air into his lungs,
but he also imparted his
individual ‘human spirit in man’, into him.
Isaiah
42:5 ¶ Thus saith God the
LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched
them out; he that spread
forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it;
1) he
that giveth breath unto the people upon it,
2) and spirit to them that walk
therein:
Twice the bible states that the
spirit in man is one of the most important
creations of the Eternal God.
We are told that the spirit in man
was made at the same time that
the heavens and the earth were created.
We saw the first, now this is
the second time.
Zechariah
12:1
The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel,
saith the LORD,
1) which stretcheth forth the heavens,
and
2) layeth the foundation of the earth,
and
3) formeth
the spirit of man within him.
This has nothing to do with the
Holy Spirit.
We can see the clear
distinction between the human spirit and the Holy Spirit.
In these verses we see that
the fallen human spirit is replaced by a new spirit
and then the Holy Spirit,
which is God, makes the converted person His temple,
His dwelling place.
Ezekiel
36:25 ¶ Then will I
sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean:
from all your filthiness,
and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
Ezekiel
36:26 A new heart also
will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:
and I will take away the
stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Ezekiel
36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause
you to walk in my statutes, and
ye shall keep my judgments,
and do them.
From these verses we can
clearly see that it is the indwelling of God in the person that
enables the individual to
obey the Eternal God. Without the Holy Spirit obedience
is impossible.
We also need to note that
man was made in the image of God.
Gensis
1:26 ¶ And God said, Let us make man in our
image, after our likeness:
and let them have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the
air, and over the cattle,
and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing
that creepeth upon the
earth.
Gensis
1:27 So God created man
in his own image, in the image of God
created he him; male and
female created he them.
Whatever we might think,
let us make man, does not mean that there is more
than one God, as verse 27 clarifies.
Man was made in His image.
Before the fall man would
have also possessed powers which he lost when he
sinned.
He had the means to
maintain the garden of Eden which was very large.
He most likely carried out
his instructions by spoken commands.
He most likely was covered
with the glory of a sinless body.
Therefore when they sinned
they lost the glory and realised that they were
naked.
That is what they were trying
to replace when they sowed fig leaves
together.
Genesis
3:7
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that
they were naked; and
they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves
aprons.
The entire plan of God, and
Christ’s sacrifice is to put us back to this position
of lives without sin, with
the addition of a resurrection to immortal life.
If we already have immortal
life indwelling, why did Christ have to suffer and
die on our behalf to enable
us to receive the gift of Eternal Life?
If we are already ‘Eternal’
or in other words immortal, what is the point
of Eternal Life as a gift,
if we already have it?
Christ specifically put
Adam and Eve out of the garden so that they would not
be able to take of the tree
of life, in their fallen condition.
He was put precisely where
he had been made, before he had been brought into
the garden. Outside the
garden it was a stark place,
without the joys of the
garden, as he quickly found out.
A place of sweat and
fruitless toil and misery as it is for most in the world today.
This is the exact spiritual
position of everyone who has not as yet been born from above.
The few have the wealth but
almost not a single one enjoy it.
The reason is that there
are two distinct blessings, and the only receive one.
This makes the second one a
curse and not a blessing!
Ecclesiastes
5:19
Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath
given him power to
eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour;
this is the gift of
God.
Ecclesiastes
6:2 A
man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he
wanteth nothing for his
soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat
thereof, but a stranger
eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.
Adam and Eve were driven
out of the garden so that they could not take of the tree
of life, which would result
in an everlasting life of pain, sickness, sorrow.
Death would henceforth take
place to terminate this life of suffering, and the Eternal
God would intervene and by
His sacrifice,
restore everything to how
it was in the first place
Genesis 3:24
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the
garden of Eden Cherubims,
and a flaming sword which turned every way,
to keep the way of the tree
of life.
This is a direct
contradiction of the doctrine of the immortal soul.
I have asked bible scholars
what they thought the spirit in man looked like.
They told me, that they did
not know, and that it was something situated in the forehead !
Similar believers of an
immortal soul can give you no idea of what it looks like.
We have a complete
document dealing with “The Spirit In Man”, which deals with this.
The spirit in man looks precisely as the man
looks right down to the most minute detail.
Think of it as the hologram of a man.
You see it, but there is nothing to touch, it
is spirit.
Consider the report, which is not a parable,
regarding Lazarus and the rich man.
It was their spirits which were communicating with
each other.
They recognised, spoke to and reasoned with
each other etc.
Is this an immortal soul?
No it is not because these spirits can be
destroyed.
Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the
book of life was cast into
the lake of fire.
The Eternal God can destroy any part of his
creation, whether it is physical or spiritual.
Why should we think that he cannot do so?
Once again this is very important for us today.
In these end times we need to be able to
distinguish between spiritual
counterfeiters of even our friends !!
The point is the absolute accuracy with which a
spirit can imitate.
That is Satan’s counterfeit of the spirit in
man.
We have been given the tools to discern false
from true spirits.
It all comes down to demanding that these
people/spirits confess that Christ
has come in the flesh.
Evil spirits will not do this.
2
John 1:7
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus
Christ is come in the
flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Satan and his evil spirits hate even the name
of Christ, as they have no choice but to bow
down to him.
These principles are very important for us
today.
The spirits of the deceased are not permitted
to communicate with the living.
However,
millions of people sin and pay good money to speak to their dead relatives.
This is
a gross deception.
Any spirit of the dead, is either a demon or a
fallen angel,
and spells trouble with a capital T.
Deuteronomy
18:10 There shall not be
found among you any one that maketh his son or his
daughter to pass through
the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or
an
enchanter, or a witch,
Deuteronomy
18:11 Or a charmer, or a
consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a
necromancer.
Deuteronomy
18:12 For all that do
these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and
because of these
abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
Deuteronomy
18:13 Thou shalt be
perfect with the LORD thy God.
Of course Satan knows that people have spirits,
which many Christians have no clue about.
Not only does he know but he clearly sees the
condition of their spirits and knows whether
they are genuine Christians or to use his own words, bible carrying ‘hypocrites’.
See: Emmanuel Eni Delivered from the powers of Darkness.
He deceives billions to join him on his
bandwagon to hell.
It is quite impossible to legally separate a
man from his spirit.
To do this is to die.
I use the term legally because those who have fellowship
with Satan,
can illegally have this power, so that they can
do such things, as astral
travel, which is empowered by Satan.
The spirit and the body are so closely
intertwined, they are quite inseparable.
This is what the following verse is saying.
It shows how closely they are as one, just like
the bones with the marrow.
Consider this amazing separating the thought
from the intent.
The result is that it takes God to make the
separation.
Hebrews
4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than
any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and
marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents
of the heart.
I believe that the spirit in man enters into a man
at the moment of
conception, when a new life is formed.
The process of life is seen from the fact that
the cells start carrying
out their God ordained functions, to ultimately
form whatever part
of the body assigned to it.
We can forget about the blasphemous concept of
evolution, which the bible
states is a doctrine of fools.
Psalms
14:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm
of David.
The fool hath said in his
heart, There is no God. They are
corrupt,
they have done abominable
works, there is none that doeth good.
Contraception is one thing, and destruction of
a life, such as abortion and anything which
destroys life is an entirely different matter.
Paul makes it clear that
immortality is something that the true believer
will eventually receive. It
is not something that we already have.
1
Corinthians 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this
mortal must put on immortality.
1
Corinthians 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption,
and this mortal shall have
put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass
the saying that is written,
Death is swallowed up in victory.
What would be the point of
receiving something that we already have?
Does that make any sort of
sense?
Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the
second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ,
and shall reign with him a
thousand years.
It is the second death which results in total oblivion.
This puts the final
nail in the coffin of immortality of the soul.
It is no wonder that the
Roman Catholic church hates, and tries
to avoid and do away with
the book of Revelation.
It tells of Satan’s fate,
as well as the fate of his rebellious followers,
and the wonderful reward of
the faithful with a very real life in the New Jerusalem,
no purgatory, or other
figment of the imagination ideas.
Job
also makes clear that there is a spirit in man.
Job
32:8
But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty
giveth them understanding.
The spirit in man is
not immortal and it can also be destroyed.
The bible does not teach the
immortality of the soul but rather the mortality of the soul.
Ezekiel
18:4
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father,
so also the soul of the son
is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
How
plain is that?
Ezekiel
18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall
not bear the
iniquity of the father, neither
shall the father bear the iniquity of the son:
the righteousness of the
righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of
the wicked shall be upon
him.
Numbers
15:28
And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that
sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD,
to make
an atonement for him; and
it shall be forgiven him.
No confusion here, it is
crystal clear.
A soul
can sin and a soul can die.
One function of the resurrection is to create a
situation where
the wheat can be separated from the chaff, the
sheep from the goats,
and then the whole man will either be
resurrected to a new spirit body,
of completely destroyed as if he did not exist in the first place.
Am I saying that those who are not saved now are
lost?
I am not saying any such thing.
At some point every one will be given the
choice, to choose life or death.
It will be exactly as it is now, a voluntary
choice.
If you chose life you will live.
If you chose death you will die.
It is very simple and very clear, indeed.
Revelation 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega,
the beginning and the end.
I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain
of the water of life
freely.
Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things;
and I will be his God, and
he shall be my son.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the
abominable, and
murderers, and
whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall
have their part in the lake
which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is
the second death.
Things a soul can do.
Leviticus 5:1 And if a soul sin, and
hear the voice of swearing, and is a witnes
Leviticus 5:2 Or if a soul touch any
unclean thing
Leviticus 5:4 Or if a soul swear,
pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good,
Leviticus 6:2 If a soul
sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour
Leviticus
7:18
And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings
be eaten at all on the third
day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be
imputed unto him that
offereth it: it shall be an abomination,
and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his iniquity.
Leviticus
7:27
Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even
that soul shall be cut
off from his people.
Leviticus
17:11
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to
you upon the altar to make
an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood
that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Leviticus
20:6
And the soul that turneth after such
as have familiar spirits,
and after wizards, to go
a whoring after them, I will even set my
face against
that soul, and will cut him
off from among his people.
Leviticus
23:29
For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that
same day, he shall be cut
off from among his people.
Genesis
35:18
And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she
called his name Benoni: but
his father called him Benjamin.
Exodus
31:14 Ye
shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one
that
defileth it shall surely be
put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul
shall be cut off from among
his people.
You no longer need
to be deceived by the false doctrine of the immortal soul.
Maybe it is time to
question the many other false teachings
that Satan has been
vigorously promoting
through the ‘fallen churches’.
We have seen that
there is a spirit in man as distinct from an immortal soul.
Eternal Life is a
destination that will be given to us either at the resurrection
or at the return of
Christ, depending on our spiritual status.
It is not something
which we all automatically have.
Wake up, as the hour is very late, and
endeavour to be part of the manchild,
which is by far the
best option for all of us. See our document for details.
. The only way out of
this dilemma is Jesus Christ.
. He is the only way of escape.
.
We have to be under His
Care and Protection.
Salvation by any other name or means,
Simply does not exist.
. Complete Obedience is
required
Praise the Lord.
. Come
soon Lord Jesus.
Amen.
